About me
I am an integrative counsellor and health coach. I work in person in Edinburgh and online nationwide. Whether in person or online we will work together to build a warm, safe and confidential space for you to address your present concerns. I also offer parental consultations and support.
Through private practice and my experience of working in schools and for charitable organisations I have experience of working with and not limited to: anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, family separation, grief, loss, bullying, refugee status, the impact of the menstrual cycle on mental health, agoraphobia, work stress, self-harm and low self-esteem, including that stemming from the impact of social media and online platforms.
I have a qualification in Lifestyle Medicine so that together we can take a holistic approach to your health if this is something you are interested in, with support available for sleep, nutrition and physical activity. More information about the way I work is available at www.thalehealth.co.uk
If you suffer with short term or chronic insomnia I provide a 4-session structured model of counselling called CBT-I. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia is the NHS and American College of Physicians recommended treatment for insomnia, whether it stems from stressors at work to the perimenopause. It can improve the time taken to fall asleep, overall sleep and feeling rested the next day. Cognitive, behavioural and psychoeducation interventions are utilised alongside training you to utilise relaxation techniques.
For children and young people, I also offer art and play therapy alongside talking therapy where appropriate to help us look at the underlying cause of an issue or to see something in a new light. Sand therapy and therapeutic stories are also available for working with younger children.
I offer provide online, phone and in person sessions for teenagers over 15 years old and and in person sessions children over 5 years old. The teenage years into early adulthood are a time of constant transition where feelings of loss, fear, being stuck, confusion and general worry for the future are all common. Counselling can help one navigate this time and feel more confident in the decisions you make.
I am a registered member of BACP and follow their procedures regarding supervision, professional development, complaints, and their ethical framework to ensure that safety and welfare are embedded in my practice.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
