About me
Are you struggling to manage everyday life, due to mental health difficulties? Are these difficulties getting in the way of living your life to the fullest? I’m here to help and support you.
Hi, my name is Clarissa and I am an accredited CBT and EMDR therapist with over 8 years of experience working in the NHS. I have dedicated my career to supporting individuals through challenging periods of their lives and am passionate about offering a space that is welcoming, safe and down to earth - where you are the expert in your own life and experiences, therefore teamwork and collaboration is at the heart of our work.
Training, qualifications & experience
I specialise in helping people who have experienced trauma in their life and those experiencing Depression and Anxiety disorders.
This can include:
- Generalised Anxiety Disorder
- Panic Disorder,
- Health Anxiety,
- Social Anxiety,
- Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD),
- Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
- Complex PTSD.
I place emphasis on understanding not only what is maintaining your distress in the present, but also exploring and processing the development of your distress. I achieve this by using evidence based therapeutic interventions- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR).
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The BABCP is the lead organisation for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in the UK. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in the practice, theory or development of CBT. BABCP also provides accreditation for CBT therapists. BABCP accredited members adhere to the Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics in the Practice of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies, and are willing to be scrutinised in this adherence as required.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
