About me
I believe that every person has the inner wisdom and potential to create a fulfilling life for themselves. However, at some point, most of us will find that we need external perspective and a space to explore issues that might make us feel stuck or hopeless. To me, counselling is a collaborative and creative relational process, and my role in it is helping people find their own personal power and joy, no matter their personal circumstances. I'm an energetic practitioner who will laugh and get excited with you, but I will also always respect your rhythm and create space for grief, pain and stuckness, for as long as it is needed.
Being neurodivergent myself, I've been drawn to work with autism, ADHD, and other neurotypes, as well as the often interconnected LGTBQAI+ and gender, sexuality, kink, and relationship diversity (polyamory/non-monogamy) communities, including sex workers.
Whatever brings you to therapy, I strive to create a welcoming, anti-oppressive and sex-positive space where no issue is too small or too shameful to explore and where every aspect of your life is welcome, as much or as little as you want it to be.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a Level 5 Professional Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy accredited by the NCPS, and I have been supporting clients since 2020. I also hold both a Bereavement Support and a Bereavement Support Supervision qualification.
Prior to this, my background was in academia, particularly Philosophy and Critical Theory. I have a BA in Philosophy and a MA in Contemporary Philosophy.
As an integrative therapist, I am trained to work with a wide variety of issues and bring different techniques and interventions to my practice, but we will always decide on these together, focusing on what works best for you.
Spending many years working as a therapist and supervisor within a national bereavement support organisation has given me a deep appreciation for grief work, particularly relationally complex grief.
As a Spanish person living in the UK, I also have personal experience of cultural shock, alienation, loneliness, and other issues related to living in a culture and country other than your own.
