About me

Hello I'm Claire welcome to my profile, I'm a person centred counsellor and a individual member of the BACP. Making a decision to seek help with problems life may throw your way can be daunting, that is why its important to find the right therapist where you feel safe and understood and not judged, where you can gain insight into your thoughts and feelings and who will provide strategies for you to regain control of your life.

Children age 11 upwards, teenagers, young Adults, Older Adults.

Child Therapy

Previous to counselling I was a SEN and behaviour specialist Teaching Assistant within a EBD School supporting children through emotional issues such as parental attachment, separation, self harm, bullying, low self esteem, identity, anxiety, meltdowns, transitions within the school environment. I use talk and draw which can enable children to open up more and express how they are feeling.

Adult Therapy

Helping people to be able to move forward within their life and gain emotional stability. I connect and relate to what is important to you as a individual, and give you the opportunity  to talk in confidence about any difficulties you are facing.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a individual member of the British Association of counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP). I hold professional insurance, Enhanced DBS Certificate and registered with the update service.

I have over 12 years experience of working throughout mainstream and specialist schools supporting children with autism and ADHD. I also have experience of supporting ex military personnel and have trained on the mentoring course through SSAFA the armed forces charity.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

My first session is £25 for a initial assessment.

Face to face by home visits £40 for a 50 minute session

Online via zoom £40 for a 50 minute session

Telephone £35 for a 50 minute session

Couples counselling £50  50 minute session 

All sessions payable by bank transfer 24 hours before your session.

Further information

I run my practice part time which means that I am able to offer evening and weekend hours. I’m available Monday, Wednesday and Thursday  evenings up to 8pm  and on Saturdays until 1pm.
