About me

You've done something amazing today. By visiting this site you have admitted to yourself that things can be better. That you want a little more from your life. We all do.

More happiness. More peace. More control.

I am sorry that things are not going so well for you. Let me assure you that you are in the right place. By seeking help you are taking the first brave step towards controlling your own happiness. Together we can start to find solutions tailored to you.

Dedicated to supporting you on a journey of self exploration, self-discovery and personal growth. I will be with you every step of the way: building a better, stronger you.

Life is full of challenges and our expectations can sometimes seem so far away from reality. It's normal to want to seek help, to reach out for support when life gets too much. That's where counselling can help. You're in the right place.

I use an integrative approach so that I can tailor my support to your needs and where you are currently on your journey of change. My sessions draw on my knowledge and experience of integrative counselling, coaching, NLP, CBT and hypnotherapy to help you to make progress effectively and in the shortest time possible.

My main counselling training has been using Psychodynamic and Person-Centred approaches. This means that I place a great deal of importance on building a trusting relationship, helping you to feel safe and secure enough to explore your difficulties whilst making potential links to the past and finding the root of the problem.

Talking alone sometimes isn't quite enough. I also integrate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and Hypnotherapy techniques into our sessions to help bring about change on a conscious and unconscious level by shifting any negative beliefs that might be holding you back. Once you are feeling ready to make some changes, it may be appropriate to incorporate life coaching techniques into our sessions to help to you clarify your vision of the future you want to create and help you to take steps to get there.

My mission statement is to bring hope, empowerment and wellness to all my clients and ensure that each person who spends time in my sessions leaves a step closer to making the changes needed to improve their life.

I am here for you when you are ready...

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Breakthrough Days are incredibly powerful, immersive and transformative days.

They include:
* a detailed personal history to explore the root of the problem
* Timeline Therapy to help you shift negative emotions and limiting beliefs/decisions that may be creating blockages and preventing you from moving forwards
* exploring your life/career values and whether your life is in line with what is most important to you
* hypnosis to help you to make changes on a more unconscious level and reaffirm new positive beliefs about yourself
* coaching to help you to set goals and create an action plan
* many other NLP strategies to help you to create the life you want
* a paperback copy of book, 'Have a Magical Day!'
* refreshments throughout the day and lunch                                                               *a 2 hour coaching session a week or two later to check in with you to discuss your progress and create a plan to help you to move forward and keep the momentum going

If you want to make big changes, fast then Breakthrough Days are perfect!
Timeline Therapy (TLT)
TLT provides one of the most powerful processes and techniques for personal change and growth, by facilitating the elimination of the painful emotions attached to memories or events in the past. The negative emotions that are focussed on are: anger, sadness, fear, hurt, and guilt. TLT also enables you to clear limiting beliefs that can leave you stuck in the past and stop you from creating what you want in your life. TLT helps you to reframe past negative events and focus on what we can learn from them and to use this as a resource for the future.

Mindset Mastery Morning
An intensive morning of change using a combination of Time Line Therapy, NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) strategies and hypnosis, designed to get to the unconscious root of the problem, to help get rid of it once and for all.

They are perfect for:

  • people with fears and phobias that are limiting their life and work
  • people with anxiety, particularly around situations such as delivering a presentation at work, performance anxiety, driving tests, exams, pregnancy.

Kind words from my previous clients...

"Claire is genuinely one of the best at what she does. Helped me so much."

"Therapy with Claire has helped me a great deal. Claire is very professional, understanding and attentive. The appointments helped my mindset in how to deal with negative situations, easing my anxiety and helping me to focus on more positive things such as walks and fresh air to help. Claire is a very caring therapist who works at your own pace and does not rush you in anyway. Cannot recommend Claire enough for anyone needing support. I’m a different person for the better".

"I felt as ease with Claire on my visits. At first I was quite nervous and didn't know what to expect but as we got talking she made me feel like I could lay my cards on the table and get down to the problems that were making me feel unhappy. I would definitely go back if I start struggling again and would highly recommend Claire for anybody seeking help."

"Claire was amazing. When you talk it actually feels like your feelings are important, no matter how silly you might think they are. The amount the sessions have helped my outlook on life are extraordinary! I never expected to be able to see life in as positive a way as I do now, and it's thanks to Claire showing me how to do it! I honestly couldn't recommend this enough if you're thinking about asking for help."

"Claire is very understanding and helped me through some tough times, she helped me get through to the root cause of some of my problems, and was always very supportive. After several sessions I feel much more confident in my personal life and at work. I would recommend Claire to anyone."

"I should thank you for changing my life, but you haven't. I changed my life but you pointed me in the right direction and I would never have been able to do it without you. You are amazing at your job."

"You've taken me through a process in which you've been gentle, compassionate, kind-hearted, warm, golden. Your ability as a listener and for me to feel heard has helped me to take another look and shrink my monsters so small I've stepped on them. Thank you."

"Claire, you saved my life. I was in a dark place before I met you. You will never know how much you have helped me. I used to wake up dreading the day and now I wake up loving life. You are very special. Thank you for everything you've done."

"I knew I was in the wrong place and I knew I had an opportunity for a fresh start. What I did not know was how to go about it. I had never considered or understood counselling or what options there were. My initial contact with Claire was via e-mail, her reply made me feel I was doing the right thing and I found her friendly, easy to talk to and honest with her feedback and approach. Now I wonder why I waited so long? I have met my aims, I do feel better and now I have the tools in my mind to face issues and help me stay on a positive track looking forward to life ahead with the ones I love and who love me. I cannot thank Claire enough."

"I can't thank Claire enough for the help she has given me over the past year. Claire has such a kind, caring, professional nature and is easy to talk to in a non-judgmental environment. I have always felt comfortable talking to Claire and her help has been invaluable in helping with relationships and improving my self-confidence. Thank you."
