About me

Hi, I’m Claire. I run a counselling service with a team of dedicated, carefully selected therapists who are here to support you through the challenges you’re currently facing.

We understand that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to counselling. All of our counsellors are trained in a range of therapeutic approaches and specialise in working with complex trauma, as well as anxiety, low mood, stress, relationship difficulties, and long-standing emotional patterns. This allows them to tailor their support to your individual needs, experiences, and goals.

Our counselling is trauma-informed, ethical, and compassionate. We work at a pace that feels manageable for you, with a strong emphasis on safety, collaboration, and helping you make sense of what you’ve been through, while reducing the ongoing impact of past experiences on your day-to-day life.

All of our counsellors are handpicked not only for their professional training and experience, but also for their warm, grounded, and approachable manner. We believe the therapeutic relationship is central to effective counselling, and we place great importance on creating a space where you feel comfortable enough to explore what’s going on for you without judgement or pressure.

Our team combines strong clinical understanding with a down-to-earth, human way of working. Whether your difficulties feel recent or long-standing, we aim to offer counselling that feels containing, supportive, and practical, helping you develop healthier ways of coping and relating to yourself and others.

We were proud to be awarded Best Customer Service at the East Staffordshire and South Derbyshire Business Awards, reflecting the care, professionalism, and consistency we strive to offer every client who accesses our service.

If you’re interested in counselling with one of our therapists, please complete the enquiry form below and we’ll take care to match you with the most suitable support: https://form.jotform.com/Claire_Reeves/enquiry-form

We are also a placement provider for counsellors in training. If you are seeking a placement opportunity, please feel free to get in touch for more information.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Kind words from my previous clients...

"Claire is genuinely one of the best at what she does. Helped me so much."

"Therapy with Claire has helped me a great deal. Claire is very professional, understanding and attentive. The appointments helped my mindset in how to deal with negative situations, easing my anxiety and helping me to focus on more positive things such as walks and fresh air to help. Claire is a very caring therapist who works at your own pace and does not rush you in anyway. Cannot recommend Claire enough for anyone needing support. I’m a different person for the better".

"I felt as ease with Claire on my visits. At first I was quite nervous and didn't know what to expect but as we got talking she made me feel like I could lay my cards on the table and get down to the problems that were making me feel unhappy. I would definitely go back if I start struggling again and would highly recommend Claire for anybody seeking help."

"Claire was amazing. When you talk it actually feels like your feelings are important, no matter how silly you might think they are. The amount the sessions have helped my outlook on life are extraordinary! I never expected to be able to see life in as positive a way as I do now, and it's thanks to Claire showing me how to do it! I honestly couldn't recommend this enough if you're thinking about asking for help."

"Claire is very understanding and helped me through some tough times, she helped me get through to the root cause of some of my problems, and was always very supportive. After several sessions I feel much more confident in my personal life and at work. I would recommend Claire to anyone."

"I should thank you for changing my life, but you haven't. I changed my life but you pointed me in the right direction and I would never have been able to do it without you. You are amazing at your job."

"You've taken me through a process in which you've been gentle, compassionate, kind-hearted, warm, golden. Your ability as a listener and for me to feel heard has helped me to take another look and shrink my monsters so small I've stepped on them. Thank you."

"Claire, you saved my life. I was in a dark place before I met you. You will never know how much you have helped me. I used to wake up dreading the day and now I wake up loving life. You are very special. Thank you for everything you've done."

"I knew I was in the wrong place and I knew I had an opportunity for a fresh start. What I did not know was how to go about it. I had never considered or understood counselling or what options there were. My initial contact with Claire was via e-mail, her reply made me feel I was doing the right thing and I found her friendly, easy to talk to and honest with her feedback and approach. Now I wonder why I waited so long? I have met my aims, I do feel better and now I have the tools in my mind to face issues and help me stay on a positive track looking forward to life ahead with the ones I love and who love me. I cannot thank Claire enough."

"I can't thank Claire enough for the help she has given me over the past year. Claire has such a kind, caring, professional nature and is easy to talk to in a non-judgmental environment. I have always felt comfortable talking to Claire and her help has been invaluable in helping with relationships and improving my self-confidence. Thank you."
