About me

I offer a safe confidential space for you to feel heard and accepted. If you need support working through current or past issues, or if you are feeling sad, but the reasons are less clear, you are welcome to get in touch.

There are times when we all need some help or support.  I can offer you safe and caring support through counselling.  Pressures of life, responsibilities, changes, loss, or unresolved past experiences can all have an impact.  When our personal resources have been used up, even a small amount of extra stress may feel overwhelming.

Help with issues including:

  • anxiety
  • depression
  • sadness
  • stress
  • self-esteem
  • confidence
  • relationships
  • change
  • grief
  • loss
  • identity
  • trauma

What I offer:

  • a confidential space where you can be heard
  • a safe place to focus on your concerns and needs
  • support and compassion in understanding your own issues and finding a way forward

My approach:

I believe that trust in the counselling relationship lies at the heart of effective therapy.  So it is important for you to feel comfortable with your choice of counsellor.

As an Integrative Counsellor, I combine Humanistic and Psychodynamic approaches.  In this way I offer a safe and compassionate therapeutic relationship, together with support in understanding and focussing on your individual needs and concerns, so that we can work together to help you move forward.

I offer short term counselling and longer term counselling as needed.

Sessions are 50 minutes long and cost £50.

I am based in Tring and Berkhamsted:

The quiet, comfortable therapy rooms are within easy access from Hemel Hempstead, Bovingdon, Leighton Buzzard, Aylesbury, Aston Clinton, Dunstable, Wendover and surrounding villages.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

I have a particular interest in the impact of identity and self worth on mental and emotional health and wellbeing and the need for compassion in all our lives.
