About me
Welcome. I offer a warmly respectful, non-judgmental space for you to explore any of the unique, puzzling or unsettling experiences that have brought you here. My practice is trauma-informed with the option to work creatively where chosen. Out of my experience of working in hospice, various counselling agencies, higher education and private practice, I specialise in loss and grief in all its forms; understanding relationships and the self, and distressing life experiences. I work with individuals and groups, in person and online.
Training, qualifications & experience
BA (Hons) Person-Centred Counselling & Psychotherapy. Certificate in the Therapeutic Use of Person-Centred Creative Arts. Certificate in Therapeutic Group Facilitation
I am an experienced counsellor and psychotherapist working in person and online from BH23 in Dorset. I have worked in many settings; counselling organisations, further education, hospice and private practice. I work with a broad range of clients; those exploring relationship difficulties, trauma experiences, depression, loss & grief, anxiety, rage/ anger, addiction and substance abuse issues. I work with clients who have been given a mental health diagnosis and those seeking to understand a complex range of symptoms and responses to distress, life events, and social issues. I have completed additional training for working with individuals whose lives have been impacted by domestic abuse, trauma and brain recovery, and complex trauma and PTSD. Where chosen, we can work therapeutically with art and image. I run therapeutic groups both online and in person. My practice is fully insured and I hold a current Disclosure and Barring Certificate.
