About me

Many people find themselves in challenging situations that can make them question who they are and want they want from life. Therapy is a great place to explore some of these challenges and allows the opportunity to gain a deeper perspective on who you are as a person and what you want from life.

As a therapist, I work with a wide range of issues including trauma, adverse childhood experiences, attachment issues, relationships issues, sex/porn addiction and substance addiction. I offer an open, trauma-informed approach that allows you to work at your own pace and within your own readiness and comfort, honoring your experiences while supporting growth and self-understanding.

Perhaps you’ve found yourself trapped in recurring patterns that you just can’t seem to get out of and you’re ready to make a meaningful change towards becoming a more authentic version of yourself. Many of us may find ourselves trapped in negative thought patterns or belief systems that get in the way of allowing us to develop and grow. Unconscious patterns and behaviours skew our view of ourselves and the world around us and can affect our relationships, keep us trapped in a place that is often devoid of love and authentic human connection.

I take the view that as human beings we are made of an array of different parts, all with their own agendas and desired goals. Often when we are feeling dysregulated we have an array of different parts competing for our primary attention, causing us to question who we are and what we want.

A key role of therapy is to be able to develop self awareness to understand the various parts of ourselves that make us who we are. Some of these parts can be hidden away in the shadows, considered too vulnerable or unacceptable to be fully presented to others. Finding healthy and appropriate ways to integrate these parts is a key element to therapy. As a therapist, I work with clients to help them develop a better understanding about themselves and their behaviours and to walk with them to create a more meaningful way of living.

Working from a client centred perspective, I let you lead the sessions with what seems most important to you. We can collaboratively agree a structure and work out what works best for you. As a practitioner the key areas I focus on are exploring your relationship to yourself, to those around you and to your body. Taking a holistic approach to therapy that encompasses all of your experiences. My way of working is grounded in the belief that the therapeutic relationship is at the very centre of effective therapy. I place a strong emphasis on creating a safe, compassionate and boundaried space where you can bring your whole self.

I work relationally, meaning that the connection we build together is an important part of the process. Therapy is not something that is done to you, but something we do together. It requires both of us to show up, even on the days when that feels difficult, and to engage in an honest and courageous process of exploration. I bring warmth, openness and curiosity to our work, but I will also gently question and challenge where this feels helpful, always with the intention of supporting you to grow and to see yourself more clearly.

My approach invites you to explore all aspects of yourself, from the parts that feel strong and resourceful, to the parts that may have been pushed aside, silenced or judged as unacceptable. This can involve inner child work, exploring unmet needs and developing greater self-compassion. I also support clients in learning to regulate emotions more effectively, uncovering their core values and reflecting on what truly makes life meaningful.

Training, qualifications & experience

Over the course of my career, I have gained experience working with a wide range of people and presenting issues. I have supported clients living with anxiety, depression and low mood, as well as those struggling with addiction and substance misuse. I have particular experience in the areas of sex and pornography addiction and the ways these can impact relationships, self-esteem and overall wellbeing. I have also worked extensively within the prison system, supporting offenders to explore their patterns of behaviour, confront painful emotions and develop healthier, more constructive ways of engaging with themselves and others.

I work within the BACP Ethical Framework and am dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of professional and ethical practice. This includes ensuring clear boundaries, protecting confidentiality, and working in line with GDPR requirements to safeguard your personal information. My commitment is to provide therapy that is safe, respectful and trustworthy, offering you the best possible conditions for growth and change.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
