About me

Hello, I’m Christine and I work with people aged 18 years and over who may be thinking that life shouldn’t feel like such a battle. Perhaps you’re overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, irritable or simply feeling really down. Maybe you’re struggling with relationships or loss. I can help to ease the weight of carrying your thoughts and feelings alone.

As we work together, we can look beyond the mask you may find yourself wearing day to day and compassionately explore and question patterns of thinking and coping that are no longer helpful to you. Together we can work towards positive changes that matter to you, helping you feel more confident and less burdened.

I’m an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist, which means I’m trained in a number of different approaches, allowing me to tailor how I work to what best suits you. You don’t need to know where to begin or have the right words to explain how you’re feeling. We can work on that together, at a pace that feels comfortable for you. You can share difficult or painful experiences with me without worrying about being judged or overwhelming me. I’ll bring genuine empathy, compassion and gentle challenge to our work together. I am registered with the BACP and work in accordance with their Ethical Framework.

About me:

I initially pursued a career in business, working in a number of senior management positions. However, when life threw me some challenging curveballs, I returned to university to retrain as a counsellor and psychotherapist.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
