About me

Hello, my name is Yuki Compston, and I am a psychotherapeutic counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I am committed to supporting individuals and couples through a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges.

My work is grounded in the values of empathy, empowerment, commitment, and integrity. I offer a safe, non-judgemental environment to explore life's challenges and work toward meaningful change. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, cultural adjustment, or seeking personal growth, we'll work together at your pace to develop deeper self-awareness and more fulfilling relationships. My role is to walk alongside you as you navigate your journey towards healing and self-discovery.

My career began in the business world, and my experience living and working in three different continents has shaped my sensitivity to diverse cultural and personal backgrounds. This journey allows me to bring a unique perspective to my practice—one that is both empathetic and open-minded. I ensure that your story is heard and valued, no matter your walk of life.

I specialise in supporting:

  • Those struggling with anxiety, depression, or self-esteem
  • Relationship challenges and communication issues
  • Individuals navigating cultural transitions and identity
  • International professionals and couples
  • Work-related stress and life transition

If you feel we would be a good fit, I invite you to get in touch. I offer an initial 30-minute video call free of charge, where I can answer any questions you may have and we can discuss what you’re looking for in therapy.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
