About me
Hello and welcome. I’m Chelsie, the face behind ‘Steady Steps Counselling’. I provide a warm, trauma-informed space where clients can feel safe, supported and heard.
I have experience of helping individuals through a range of emotional challenges, with a particular focus on supporting people affected by abuse to reclaim their sense of identity and rebuild their confidence.
I have worked with individuals who have experienced complex family relationships, including the long-term effects of narcissistic or emotionally harmful parenting.
My integrative approach to counselling, means that I can tailor the sessions to meet each individuals needs. Our sessions together will be grounded in empathy, understanding and collaboration, allowing clients to move at a pace that feels comfortable for them.
No matter what challenges you are facing, my focus is always on supporting clients to heal and achieve personal growth; aiming to help individuals feel more balanced and in control.
I offer a complimentary 15-minute telephone consultation so people can ask any questions and explore whether working together feels like the right fit.
Training, qualifications & experience
I volunteered for a year at The Zone where I worked predominantly with young women aged 18-25, facing issues with low self-esteem/confidence; abuse; grief; PTSD; narcissistic relationships, and a variety of mental health challenges.
I hold qualifications in the following:
- Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills
- Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies
- Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling
- Certificate in Trauma, the Brain and Recovery
