About me

Hi, I’m Charlotte, an integrative Psychotherapist working with those who feel caught up in the demands of everyday life. Where you may feel stuck in survival mode, disconnected or overwhelmed, left feeling lost in how to navigate your way through. I understand that life can leave us carrying more than we realise, and therapy can be the space to slow down, make sense of our experiences and reconnect with ourselves.

In our sessions together, we will gently explore whatever may be troubling you, providing you with a warm, compassionate and safe space for you to process your emotions, untangle your thoughts, and reflect on your own processes. Helping you to gain clarity of your situation, so that you are able to move towards a life that feels more balanced and meaningful.

My approach is integrative, which means I draw on ideas and understanding from different approaches and ways of working. In this way, I am able to tailor the therapy to best suit your individual needs, while acknowledging the influence of different theories in making sense of your behaviours, patterns and past experiences. How this will look like in our work will depend on what feels most helpful for you. Sometimes it may involve exploring where patterns began, or by offering some psychoeducation, and other times it may be holding space for connecting to and processing deeper emotions, experiences and traumas.

Although I work integratively, the heart of my practice is person-centred. Working with the belief that therapy isn't about fixing who you are, rather about helping you to understand who you are. In creating the right conditions with warmth, empathy and compassion, I believe that therapy offers a space where you can explore, understand and reconnect with yourself, and feel safe enough to bring all that is you into the room. Here, we can meet ourselves with curiosity rather than judgement and begin to understand ourselves more deeply. As we do, we gain a greater clarity, opening the opportunity for meaningful and lasting change.

Next Steps

I understand the importance of finding a therapist that feels right for you; that’s why I offer a free 15-minute phone call or video chat. This is an opportunity to explore what has brought you here and whether we feel like a good fit for one another.

At the moment, I offer online sessions only, though I am based in Manchester city centre.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
