About me
I am a qualified Person-Centred therapist offering a warm, compassionate, and non-judgemental space where you can feel heard, understood, and accepted.
I believe that each person is the expert in their own life and has the capacity for growth, self-understanding, and positive change. My role is to support you in exploring what is happening in your life at your own pace, and to work collaboratively to build a trusting therapeutic relationship where you feel safe, respected, and valued.
Alongside my therapy practice, I am a Tai Chi teacher and have a particular interest in the mind-body connection. I value the role that movement, breath, and awareness can play in supporting emotional wellbeing, self-exploration, and personal growth.
I work from a comfortable therapy space in Leith, with good public transport links and free parking nearby.
If you are considering therapy, I would be happy to arrange a brief introductory call or an initial meeting so we can explore whether working together feels like the right fit for you.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold an MA in Social Anthropology from the University of Edinburgh, a COSCA Certificate in Counselling Skills, and a PG Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Persona Development and Training.
I work as a counsellor with the PF in Edinburgh.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work in accordance with their Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
Before becoming a therapist, I worked in a variety of caring and educational roles, including supporting children with complex social and emotional needs, working as a support worker for people with disabilities, and teaching expressive arts and crafts. These experiences have given me a deep appreciation of each person’s unique circumstances, strengths, and journey.
Outside of my therapeutic work, I enjoy spending time in nature, practising Tai Chi, exploring expressive arts, and connecting with family and friends. These practices help me stay grounded and reflect my belief in the importance of self-care and balance.
