BACP Registered Counsellor and NCPS Accredited Counsellor

About me

Welcome to my profile. I am a registered counsellor based in Hastings, East Sussex, offering both online and in-person sessions to support clients with a range of concerns including relationship issues, anxiety and ADHD.

Individual work

I provide a safe, confidential, and supportive environment where you can take time to reflect on your experiences at your own pace. My aim is to develop a trusting therapeutic relationship that helps you feel comfortable, heard and understood. Through therapy, we can explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours, deepen self awareness and consider new perspectives that may support positive change and personal growth.

Couples work

I work with a wide range of relationship issues, including differences in communication styles, parenting challenges, frequent arguments and feeling disconnected. My approach is collaborative, working alongside each couple to help navigate and work through difficulties. I recognise that every relationship is unique and shaped by individual histories and circumstances.

I provide a balanced space where each person has the opportunity to express their thoughts and feelings openly. Together, we can clarify shared goals, improve understanding and identify steps towards strengthening the relationship.

About my practice

As part of my commitment to ethical practice, my work is regularly supervised by a UKCP-registered Supervisor and Psychotherapist. I hold full professional insurance and am registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and an accredited member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS). I am also a member of the UK Association for Transactional Analysis (UKATA). I adhere to the ethical frameworks and professional standards of the organisations to which I belong.

Training, qualifications & experience

I originally trained as a Registered Nurse and worked within the National Health Service for many years, supporting both young people and adult patients. I have since completed four years of training in Transactional Analysis counselling and psychotherapy. I have gained varied experience across private practice and several organisations, including:

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
