About me

Hi, I am Charlotte, welcome to my page. I am a Registered Counsellor based in Hastings Town Centre where I have my own room.

I offer in person or online sessions to individuals and couples, these can either cover a number of weeks, to medium or long term work.

I work with the following;

  • Anxiety including social and health anxiety
  • Depression including postnatal depression
  • Stress, family and work issues
  • ADHD & Autism (Neurodivergent)
  • Relationship issues including; affairs, work and financial stress, division of chores within the home, differences in communication, arguing, different parenting styles, drifting apart and wishing to end the relationship
  • Health issues including female health
  • LGBTQ+

Individual work

I offer 50 minute sessions in a confidential environment. I aim to build a working relationship where you feel heard and able to explore your reasons for seeking counselling. Building a good working relationship is essential, it can help to establish mutual trust and open communication. Sessions are paced  to what you may need and are tailored toward each individual.

Sessions can help us to make sense of our; experiences, patterns of behaviour, feelings and thoughts. Exploring these can help us to understand how we may self sabotage or become stuck with certain situations.

My approach is non - judgement and empathetic. I am able to hold a boundaried and safe space in person or online.

Talking about different aspects of our life can help us gain a deeper understanding of what is happening in the present. This can help to increase our self awareness, establish what we may need at this time and what changes we can make to improve our wellbeing. Sessions can help us to work through our challenges to bring about change.

Couples

I offer either 60 minute or 90 minute sessions for couples who are seeking help with relationship issues. I offer a space where I work in collaboration with each couple so that they can work through the difficulties they are experiencing. I aim to hold a safe space for problems to be talked about ensuring that each individual has time to express how they think and feel. This can help to establish what goals to work toward in strengthening the relationship. If the relationship has come to an end, sessions offer an opportunity to process an ending.

About my practice

As part of my work with clients, my practice is supervised by a UKCP Registered Supervisor and Psychotherapist. I am insured and registered with the Information Commissioners Office. I am a registered member of the BACP, accredited with the NCPS and a member of UKATA. I adhere to their ethical guidelines.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am trained in Transactional Analysis counselling and psychotherapy. I have had varied counselling experience in private practice and working for Anxiety UK as an Approved Therapist. I currently work in a private practice where I am working toward UKCP registration as a Psychotherapist. Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
