About me

It takes courage to reach out for help. Life can become challenging and overwhelming, counselling can help you make sense of this and help you to make decisions about your own wellbeing. 

I have experience of working therapeutically in the volunteer and private sector. I currently work for Anxiety UK as an Anxiety Approved Therapist. I am based in Hastings here I offer face to face therapy on a Thursday. I also offer sessions via Zoom. I work with anxiety, depression, family issues, low self esteem, low self confidence and relationship problems.

I offer a confidential environment, my aim is to help you gain awareness and understanding of your situation. I believe that it is important to develop a working relationship where you feel heard, establishing mutual trust.  

I am trained counsellor in Transactional Analysis however offer an integrative approach drawing on other counselling theories. I am registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and an accredited member of the National Counselling Society. I adhere to the ethical guidelines set out by both organisations. My practice is supervised by a registered supervisor and psychotherapist.

In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Additional information

Each session is 50 minutes long. I charge £20 for an initial assessment session, here we can meet and I can answer any questions you may have, there is no obligation to work together.

Sessions are held weekly usually at the same time and on the same day.

I charge £45 per session after.
