About me

I am a qualified Psychodynamic Psychotherapist and Italian Psychologist. From the beginning of my career I have been both dedicated and passion-driven; over the years I have worked to combine reflective and analytic skills with a solid academic background. I believe in the importance to keep the focus on the other's needs with non-judgemental and empathetic listening, in order for him/her to feel safe to open up on difficult emotional contents.

My approach is psychodynamic. This kind of therapy is valuable both in the case of particular emotional difficulties or simply to deepen the individual’s understanding of him/herself. I can provide a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space that allows exploration of overwhelming and complex emotions. Over time, an empathetic, therapeutic relationship develops. The patient is led to think about internal and external worlds, considering both the past and the present, and therefore acknowledging how early experiences can affect current relationships and the overall responses to the external world. This process can help to better understand and overcome some dysfunctional patterns of behaviour, the aim of which to facilitate a more fulfilling life.

Patients attend a fifty-minute session once per week. The terms of the therapeutic contract, which include time, frequency and breaks, will be agreed together during the first consultation session. Typically this is long term work; however each individual need will be carefully assessed case by case. I can work both in English and Italian language.

Training, qualifications & experience

I achieved the "Professional Qualification in Intercultural Psychodynamic Psychotherapy" (Qualifying course in psychodynamic psychotherapy) at the Tavistock and Portman Foundation Trust in London. This followed the “Foundation Course in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Part One”.

I am a member of the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) and the Tavistock Society of Psychotherapists (TSP).

My academic background is in Psychology. I achieved a Master degree in clinical psychology at "La Sapienza" University of Rome and I am registered as an Italian Psychologist to the “Ordine degli Psicologi” (Italia).

Over the past years I have been working in many different work settings which I believe gave me the opportunity to grow up and improving both from a personal and a professional point of view. In addition to the therapeutic experience developed during my intense training at the Tavistock and Portman clinic, my curriculum ranges from working in primary and secondary education, supporting students with psychological, mental health, cognitive and behavioural issues, to leading with psychiatric and severe mental illness in Rehab and Recovery Services within the NHS.
