About me

I am a qualified person centred counsellor who can provide a relaxed, supportive, confidential and non-judgemental space for you to explore issues or difficulties that you might be facing. I offer in person, online or telephone counselling and I am happy to discuss which might best suit your needs. I am registered with the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and follow their code of conduct and ethical guidelines.

I work in a client-led way offering a variety of approaches that can be tailored to your unique needs. In our first session we can discuss what you hope to get out of therapy and consider how you prefer to approach things. It is an opportunity to get to know each other, discuss what might be bringing you to therapy and to ask any questions. Together we can establish if I am best suited to your needs and if you would like to continue working together. Throughout our sessions you will be supported to navigate challenges and issues in your life by working through difficult decisions and emotions. Counselling can allow you to find a way forward, live a better quality of life and provide you with effective tools to support you post-therapy.

Sessions are normally 50 minutes once a week. Length of therapy varies from person to person and their unique needs, on average it can be around 6-12 weeks but there is no set time limit and we will work at your pace. Face to face therapy will take place in a comfortable counselling room in Denbigh. Online therapy can take place on a platform to suit you. Telephone counselling is also available.

I have experience of working across a range of different issues including: depression, stress and anxiety, low self-esteem, suicidal thoughts, relationship problems, sexuality, family issues, loss and bereavement, addictions, chronic illness, neurodiversity, anger, and life transitions.

If you have any questions or would like more information please get in touch. I am also available for a 20 minute free introductory chat.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
