About me

Let's start where you are, which is usually stuck, in some way. Stuck with a presentation, reaction, habit or situation you can't find a way around. Stuck with anxiety, grief, the illusion of control, the inevitability of uncertainty or the feeling of nothing changing. Stuck in relationships where you don't feel seen or heard, or in families where your role was decided for you long before you got a say in it. Stuck in your life stage with no clear path forward, stuck with the contents of your head which manifest in anxiety, depression and spiralling thoughts, stuck in your old habits and patterns which you can't seem to change.

Training, qualifications & experience

We'll start where you are and find a way together to move you along the path. I work with the person, not the presentation or the problem, which means we centre you, not your anxiety or relationship or specific situation. We'll work outdoors to move you physically and metaphorically through your stuckness, and indoors to process in a safe container.
Outdoor therapy is for everybody, and it's particularly useful for those who don't thrive in a clinical environment, for those with neurodivergence, and for those looking for a more holistic body-mind approach. You don't need to be an 'outdoorsy' person and we can adapt the work to accessibility needs. Get in touch and we'll start where you are.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

My theoretical training combines person-centred and psychodynamic approaches to better understand how the past affects your present. Taking the work outdoors means we can work in an embodied way, moving literally and metaphorically through your process to find a way forwards.
