About me

Sometimes adulthood arrives before we feel ready for it. Many of the clients I work with are people navigating the pressures and uncertainties that can come with stepping into the world. People who are questioning who they are, what they want, and how to feel more at home in themselves. Many of my clients are in their 20s and 30s, although I welcome adults of all ages who feel connected to the issues I work with. If you are feeling lost, stuck, anxious, or unsure of who you are and what you want from life therapy can be a place to untangle expectations, explore identity, and build a stronger sense of self. I offer a warm, supportive, and non-judgemental space where we can explore what may be contributing to these feelings and work towards greater clarity and self-understanding.

Training, qualifications & experience

Hi, I'm Catherine and if the above sounds like what you are experiencing I understand, I've been there. I offer a warm, supportive, and non-judgemental space where you can slow down, explore what’s going on for you, and begin to make sense of your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace.

I particularly enjoy working with people in their 20s and 30s who are navigating the challenges and transitions that can come with adulthood — including identity, career pressure, relationships, family dynamics, confidence, loneliness, and feeling uncertain about the future. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling emotionally exhausted from overthinking, people-pleasing, or feeling like they’re “not enough.”

I am Psychosynthesis trained counsellor.  Psychosynthesis counselling is a holistic and compassionate approach to therapy that focuses on personal growth, self-awareness, and emotional healing. This approach is very helpful with anxiety, low self-esteem, life transitions, identity issues, relationship difficulties, and the challenges of personal growth and adulthood.

If you feel ready to take the next step, I welcome you to get in touch.  I offer a safe and supportive space to explore what you are going through.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
