About me
Welcome! I'm Cath, a professionally trained and experienced therapist working online and face-to-face in Godalming and Guildford.
Whatever your reason for seeking therapy, exploring your concerns confidentially, with a supportive therapist can help to unravel and make sense of your feelings, challenge unhelpful thinking patterns and ultimately, bring about change and personal growth.
Clients come to me for a wide range of concerns such as coping with life-limiting illness, grief and loss, depression, anxiety, trauma, low self-esteem and relationship issues.
I help clients who feel they have lost their sense of identity or purpose; who are struggling to adapt to changes in their relationships and families; and who feel overwhelmed by the uncertainty of life.
I also have a special interest in helping women navigate life changes during perimenopause and menopause. As with many other life changes, menopause can bring feelings of grief; loss of identity and confidence; anxiety; and feelings of hopelessness, to name a few.
How I work
I bring warmth, empathy and curiosity to my work. Being ‘integrative’ means I draw on a range of approaches to suit you as an individual.
At the core of my therapeutic approach is the importance of building a strong, trusting relationship with my clients. Together, we’ll look at the patterns, emotions or beliefs that might be keeping you stuck, helping you gain insight, feel steadier in yourself, and find ways forward that align with your values and needs.
Clients often tell me they leave sessions feeling calmer, more self-aware and more connected, both to themselves and to the people around them.
Areas I work with
- Relationship challenges and family issues
- Bereavement, grief and loss
- Anxiety, low mood and loss of confidence
- Chronic illness and health-related issues
- Mid-life changes such as Perimenopause / Menopause or Empty Nest
- Life transitions and identity changes
What to expect
Our sessions are led by what feels most important to you. You’ll set the pace; I’ll walk alongside you offering reflection, insight, and compassion as you make sense of what’s happening.
I offer both in-person counselling and online sessions via Teams or Zoom, so you can choose what feels most comfortable.
Next steps
It takes courage to ask for help when you are feeling distressed and it is completely normal to feel nervous when you begin your search for a therapist.
If something here resonates with you, please get in touch. I’d be glad to have an informal chat about how we might work together and answer any questions you have.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
