About me

Hello, my name is Carolyn, but most people call me Cal.

For the past 17 years I’ve been supporting people with Anxiety and other mental health issues in their workplace through Remploy Ltd and Maximus UK. I have been able to use this experience of working with adults facing issues such as Trauma, Relationship problems, Stress, Depression, Loss and many other emotional struggles. All of this enriched and grounded my counselling practice.

I understand how overwhelming it can be to have your mental health get in the way of you living the life you want. I have undertaken extensive counselling training so that I can support you effectively and safely through your counselling journey. You'll find details of my qualifications below.

I also understand that you are unique. My training, combined with years of working alongside people navigating complex emotional experiences, allows me to adapt my approach to suit your individual needs. I see therapy as a collaborative process - something we build together. A supportive and trusting relationship is, in my view essential for meaningful change.

My personal and professional experiences have shaped the counsellor I am today. Together, we will explore your emotional world and the possible roots of what may be holding you back.  I am here to listen deeply, to help you understand your patterns, and to support you as you move towards where you want to be.  Once we begin to work together, I will hold the space for you with care, consistency and with compassion.

Details on my qualifications

I am trained in three main therapeutic frameworks: psychodynamic, person-centred and CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy). I work primarily in a person-centred way, with a sprinkle of NLP (Neurolingustic Programming) which places you at the heart of the process.

Through my qualifications as a Pluralistic Psychotherapist/Counsellor, Trauma Informed practitioner, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) & Neuro-linguistic Programming Therapist, I’ve continued to develop the skills and tools to help you with whatever is limiting your life.

Please be aware that my replies may land in your junk folder , so do check there if you haven't seen a response - I will always respond back to you within 24hours.
Many thanks Cal  x
