About me

About you

We all aspire to feeling secure, hopeful, valued and connected in most relationships, but have you ever encountered relationships, or maybe you're in one now, that's created self-doubt and sadness?  Are you left feeling unsettled, anxious, confused, powerless, tense or frustrated ? It's hard to recognise or validate those feelings, but your emotional responses are real and meaningful.  Unhealthy dynamics can take a significant toll on your emotional well-being. They can be mentally damaging if you're noticing you're becoming fearful of negative reactions, conflict, or emotional outbursts.  Unbeknown to us, we can also be grieving the loss of a relationship, even if it hasn’t fully ended. Grief doesn’t only come from a clear breakup; it arises from the slow realisation that something isn’t what we hoped it would be, or that the connection we once had has changed.  There can also be a sense of loss around who you felt you were within that relationship.

If any of this feels familiar to you, I can provide support in understanding what you’re experiencing and why it may be affecting you in this way by gently exploring your situation, making sense of the patterns or dynamics at play, and help you find clarity and acceptance.  Giving yourself permission to acknowledge your emotions can be an important step. It allows space to process what’s been lost and make sense of your experience.  In addition, together we can develop ways to cope, set healthier boundaries, which will help you feel more grounded and confident in how you communicate in difficult circumstances.

Besides my committed work with relationship matters, I can help you navigate low self-worth, self-identity, self-confidence, distress, fear, and the lasting impact of psychological abuse, rejection and abandonment.

Sessions are available to you if you'd like face-to face in Dorset.

If you'd prefer to work remotely via online or phone sessions, I offer a FREE core starter pack which is sent to you after your second session if you'd like to receive this.  This will help you get the most out of your therapy sessions.

I also offer ONEplus sessions, a focused and dynamic option to help with challenges such as communication, relationships, decision-making, and more.

About Me

I’m just a regular human being, imperfect, curious, and continually learning. Before becoming a counsellor and psychotherapist, I spent over 26 years immersed in the music industry, raising two children along the way and learning a great deal through both success and struggle. In 2018, I took the first step on my counselling journey. The road wasn’t always smooth, in fact, it was often challenging and gnarly, but the process shaped me deeply, both personally and professionally.

I now work as an integrative humanistic therapist, drawing from Person-Centred Therapy, Transactional Analysis, and Gestalt approaches. This framework allows me to tailor my style to meet the unique needs of each individual I work with. I offer a cosy, warm space surrounded by nature that is accepting, compassionate, and free of judgment and where you can feel truly heard, at your own pace.

Having cared for both of my elderly parents, I recognise the emotional, physical, and often invisible toll that caring for a loved one can take. This personal experience has deepened my compassion and strengthened my desire to support carers, offering a unique space where their needs, emotions, and well-being can be seen, heard, and prioritised.

In addition, I have a particular interest in supporting people from the music and creative industries. I understand first-hand the emotional toll that fast-paced, high-pressure environments can take. Whether you're a musician, crew member, manager, or creative professional, I offer a place to decompress, reflect, and reconnect with your sense of self.

More broadly, I’m passionate about helping people from all walks of life strengthen their relationship with themselves and others. Therapy offers more than just relief from distress, it can also be a place of rediscovery, growth, and creativity.

I don’t believe there’s a single “real you” hidden somewhere inside. Instead, I see us all as layered and ever-evolving. Some parts we love, others we wrestle with. But we always have the capacity to reshape how we relate to ourselves and the world. My role is to walk alongside you; help reveal possibilities, invite playfulness, and gently challenge what no longer serves you.

Working Together, At Your Pace

Our work together can take many forms. You might come with a specific focus in mind, and benefit from very short-term therapy (6–12 sessions). Or you may wish to explore deeper emotional patterns through longer-term work. For those needing support with a particular issue in a timely way - ultimately, the choice is all yours.

Whatever brings you here, we’ll work at a pace that feels right for you. Together, we can begin to understand the origins of distressing feelings and experiences, with the aim of fostering long-lasting change. I also offer creative tools and techniques to help reconnect with your natural curiosity and capacity for healing, both within yourself and in relationship with others.

A Unique Approach

At the heart of my practice is the belief in choice, collaboration, and the power of individuality. Therapy with me is not one-size-fits-all,  it’s flexible and grounded in what works for you. When appropriate, I may incorporate gentle sound therapy (such as Tibetan singing bowls, chimes, or gongs) into in-person sessions. Sound, music & aromas can be profoundly grounding and restorative, particularly for clients who respond to sensory, somatic or olfactory approaches.

Next Steps

I offer a free initial consultation by phone or online - there are no time constraints for this call. It’s a great chance for us to connect and explore what you’re looking for.  If you're ready, or even just thinking about starting therapy,  I'll try to meet you where you are.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
