About me

Hi, my name is Caroline, I work with adults experiencing issues such as generalised anxiety disorder,  work/life balance, low self-esteem/confidence, depression, relationship/family issues, grief and effects of trauma, to name a few.  Do you ever feel like there is nothing left in the battery? Confused about how you feel and frustrated that you are feeling stuck? I often see women struggling with peri-menopause or menopausal symptoms as an additional challenge.  You are not alone. I provide a supportive, therapeutic, confidential space with understanding and no judgment; someone relatable who truly gets you.  Together, we can figure out and process what is going on.  I can help equip you with the right tools to move forward with self-confidence & compassion. I aim to help create the best version of you.

Previous clients have said that they feel I am a compassionate, caring counsellor whom they trust and feel comfortable with.

I offer a choice of ways for us to work together - open to anyone in the UK.

What can I help with ? I work with adults experiencing -  anxiety, depression, feeling overwhelmed, stressed, grief (from the loss of a person or pet), relationship/family issues, low self-esteem, unwanted behaviour patterns, or just feeling stuck in life; maybe lacking in direction, knowing that something isn't quite right. You may be struggling to move on from past events or trauma, age or work-related issues, wondering why life feels harder than it should.

Some people come to counselling with a clear reason or purpose, for others, these things unfold over time; they just know they want to make a change.

You may find yourself wondering:

  • Why do certain situations or patterns keep repeating?
  • Why do I react the way I do in relationships?
  • Why do I feel overwhelmed or stuck?
  • Is something from my past still affecting me today?
  • Why do my emotions sometimes feel hard to manage?

I aim to help you make sense of these experiences so that you can begin to move forward with greater clarity and confidence.

Why me?

There are many counsellors and psychotherapists to choose from, and each of us works in our own way. I believe counselling should feel personal and tailored to you. I work intuitively and adapt our sessions to suit your needs, your pace and what feels most helpful for you.

We can work together in a way that feels comfortable for you, whether that is talking things through, exploring patterns and understanding your experiences more deeply, or working creatively using pens, paper or clay. If you prefer being outdoors, we can also walk side-by-side in nature.

I am registered with the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (MBACP).

My approach is humanistic, which means that you are at the centre of the work. Your thoughts, feelings and experiences are heard, respected and valued. I work organically in response to you and draw on different counselling models, which allows me to adapt our work depending on what you need from therapy.

Some people like to explore things reflectively or analytically, while others simply want a safe space to talk about what is going on in the moment. I will work with you in whichever way feels most supportive.

Our relationship - I believe the relationship between counsellor and client is one of the most important parts of therapy, which is why I offer a free initial chat. This allows you to ask questions, see how it feels to talk with me, and decide whether working together feels right for you.

My journey - I  know from personal experience how powerful the counselling process can be. I felt it allowed me to see my experiences more clearly, as if my therapist was holding up a mirror, allowing me to understand myself in a new way. When we become aware of our patterns and reactions, we can choose to make different choices.

Our work together can help you gain greater clarity, process difficult experiences and develop new ways of responding to life’s challenges. If something in this profile resonates with you, please feel free to get in touch. I would be happy to arrange a free initial chat so we can see if working together feels right for you.

Testimonial - Previous clients have described my approach as kind, compassionate and supportive. I aim to provide a safe, non-judgemental space where you can explore your experiences, gain insight into patterns and begin to move towards feeling more grounded and confident in yourself.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work in accordance with their ethical framework. I studied Humanistic counselling at The University of Chichester. I have continued my studies further with a certificate in clinical practice  in Transactional Analysis.

Where ? Choose from the following 3 options -

1) Online - open to anyone in the UK.

2) In-person sessions can be held in Steyning (near Worthing & Shoreham-by-Sea),  or Henfield ( between Brighton & Horsham) , West Sussex.

Training, qualifications & experience

I completed Level 5 Diploma in Humanistic Counselling at the University of Chichester. I have also continued my training with a Certificate in Applied Transactional Analysis in Clinical Practice. My interests lie in offering an integrative approach that allows creative practices, when appropriate, and the option to meet in nature.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
