About me

Welcome

I am Caroline, a qualified and registered counsellor with the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists. I offer therapy to adults (18 years +) in  Lewisham and Brixton.

What are you going through?

Are you feeling anxious, uncertain or stuck and you can't figure out why? Do things build up and you feel overwhelmed by what's going on in your life - maybe causing panic and fear?

Are there issues affecting relationships, family, work or your sense of well-being?

Are you feeling worried, anxious or fearful of something that may happen.

Are there intrusive thoughts that get in the way of your day to day thoughts?

Is your confidence or self-esteem being hindered and affecting how you interact and socialise?

I can support you

  • By listening with empathy and accepting who you are, regardless of differences
  • To connect with your unique inner values, feelings, beliefs and behaviours.
  • To build self-confidence
  • To restore your self-esteem and self-worth
  • To explore how your past experiences may be affecting your present thoughts, feelings and behaviours
  • To empower you to become more self-aware for personal growth and independence

I believe that each client is unique with their own different feelings and experiences.

Counselling approaches

Person-centred counselling means that the therapy is centred around you as the client to enable you to connect with your unique inner values and self-worth to be your unique self.

Psychodynamic counselling means that the therapy is around bringing your unconscious feelings, conflicts and processes to your consciousness to become more self-aware.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
