About me
About Me
Hi, I'm Carol, and I help people who have spent years masking, surviving or putting everyone else first to finally feel at home in themselves.
I specialise in supporting adults who are navigating trauma, domestic abuse, menopause, and neurodivergence — particularly those who are late-diagnosed or exploring autism and ADHD. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure where to begin. You don’t need to have it all figured out — we can take things at your pace.
My work is person-centred, trauma-informed, neuro-affirming, and supported by Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) skills where these may be helpful. I believe lasting change begins with feeling heard and understood, so we start by building a trusting therapeutic relationship. Together, we can then gently introduce practical skills to help you manage overwhelming emotions, navigate relationships with greater confidence, and develop a life that feels calmer, more balanced, and true to who you are.
The Rewind Technique
I also offer the Rewind Technique, a gentle and non-intrusive approach that can reduce the emotional impact of traumatic memories without needing to talk through the details. It can be particularly helpful for PTSD, flashbacks, and intrusive memories. Many clients experience a lasting reduction in distress — and in some cases, the replay stops altogether.
Areas I Work With
• Trauma and domestic abuse
• Menopause and midlife transitions
• Neurodivergence and late diagnosis (autism & ADHD)
How I Work
I offer integrative counselling tailored to your needs — whether you want to work towards specific goals or simply have space to be heard. I work with adults (18+) and offer both in-person and online sessions.
Next Steps
Finding the right counsellor matters. I offer a free 30-minute initial consultation so we can explore what you’re looking for and whether we feel like a good fit.
If you’d prefer to start with a full session, your first 50-minute session is available for £30. I also offer 90-minute sessions for £75.
You deserve support that feels safe, respectful, and genuinely understanding.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

"I started to visit Carol in a period in my life when I was suffering from some triggers that had happened due to some family revelations. These made me feel overwhelmed with my thoughts and took me to a place I had completely shut out regarding my father. After speaking with Carol over time about this time in my childhood she gave me more clarity on the reasons why my father behaved as he did and made me realise it was his behaviour that causes me to struggle at times in my life with my own fears and feelings such as fear of authority and scared of failing or making mistakes. Talking about these feelings and being listened to was very beneficial to me and helped me to understand that I was a child in all this.
Carol has also helped me with my ongoing struggles with menopause and how it is affecting my life and work. She made me realise how important it is to put my health and wellbeing first and foremost and to be less hard on myself. She also explained how as a woman it's best to deal with the symptoms I am suffering from and to give myself the time I need and to also accept the changes I am going through.
I feel that I am in a better place mentally after having my sessions with Carol and I wouldn't hesitate to book in with her again in the future."
