About me
Hello, I am a registered member BACP accredited integrative relational therapist. I understand how past experiences can influence the way we feel, think, and cope in the present. Using an exploratory approach can help people make sense of their difficulties. I also offer a skills-based approach to enable clients manage issues in the here and now. I am a trained EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) therapist. I understand how past experiences can influence the way we feel, think, and cope in the present. Additionally, EMDR can be used to process past traumatic experiences as well as treating phobias and anxieties. I aim to work alongside you, finding an approach that fits your needs and helps you move forward.
I combine humanistic, relational and creative ways of working alongside EMDR and DBT- these are evidence-based therapies proven to help manage strong emotions, heal from trauma, and improve relationships. I have used EMDR for a variety of issues and have found it to be really effective in treating phobias, anxieties and negative beliefs, proving life changing for people. I am really passionate about this intervention and have seen the dramatic changes it can make. Using DBT in therapy can offer people skills and strategies to manage their difficulties, and these can be particularly helpful following an exploration of where our issues stem from.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a masters’ degree in psychotherapy and am a registered, accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)
I have over 20 years working for the NHS, with the last 10 years dedicated to supporting adults facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, and the effects of trauma. In recent years I have specialised in staff therapy within a mental health trust, providing healthcare professionals with a safe space to explore and address challenges both personally and professionally.
If you’re looking for a supportive, non-judgemental space to make sense of things and work towards change, please get in touch. Currently I am only offering online.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
