About me
I'm Bee and I am a counsellor in Rutland and here to help you make a change in your life. Let me start off by saying well done for taking the first step. I work as a person centred therapist providing a safe and non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings. If this sounds right for you, contact me and we can go from there.
Training, qualifications & experience
As part of my training, I work with a wide range of clients from people experiencing immediate trauma through roadside collision with the Road Victims’ Trust, to counselling prison inmates who often have never experienced counselling but have reached a point where they feel they have to re-evaluate their lives, to young people in secondary school and children at primary schools throughout the Rutland area.
I have a Foundation degree in Child Development, an EdExcel level 5 Therapeutic Counselling Diploma, a Certificate in Counselling Studies Level 3, CPCAB and a Certificate in Counselling Skills Level 2, CPCAB.
As part of my professional development, I attend regular training days to ensure I work to the highest standards. These include:
- CASY Safeguarding Workshop, 2020.
- Central Bedfordshire, Safeguarding Children, 2021.
- Self harm and Safe Guarding, 2021. Shame and Guilt, 2021.
- Working with Family Issues, 2022.
- Stress and Trauma, 2022.
- Introduction to 2022 EFP LEAP Equine Therapy
- PESI: Psychedelics in Therapy, 2022.
I am a Member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy, fully insured and ICO registered.
I hold an enhanced DBS certificate.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
