About me

Hi, I’m Bee. I’m a Person-Centred Counsellor based in Rutland, offering a calm and confidential space for you to explore whatever you’re facing. My approach is relational, trauma-informed, and led by what you need, at your own pace.

Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, lost, anxious, or simply in need of space to reconnect with yourself, therapy can help you find clarity and strength. I work with adults and young people, and welcome both short-term focused work and longer-term exploration.

Sessions are 55 minutes and take place either face-to-face or online. I offer a free initial phone call to help you decide if I’m the right fit for you.

From November 2025, clients will also have the option to work alongside Goose — my gentle, soulful Golden Retriever, currently in training to join sessions as a therapy dog. He’ll be an optional presence for those who find comfort in animal companionship.

Training, qualifications & experience

Foundation Degree in Child Development
EdExcel Level 5 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling
CPCAB Certificate in Counselling Studies (Level 3)
CPCAB Certificate in Counselling Skills (Level 2)
Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)
Enhanced DBS check for working with children and young people
Experience
As part of my training and early work, I supported a wide range of clients — from individuals experiencing immediate trauma through the Road Victims' Trust, to prison inmates exploring counselling for the first time as they re-evaluate their lives. I’ve also worked with young people in secondary schools and children in primary schools across the Rutland area.

My current practice includes counselling adopted children and supporting clients through anxiety, grief, identity issues, and life transitions. My own lived experience of IVF, pregnancy loss, and stillbirth informs my sensitivity around fertility, maternal mental health, and complex grief.

From late 2025, clients will also have the option to be joined in sessions by Goose, my Golden Retriever, who is currently in training through the PAWS official therapy dog programme. Goose brings a gentle, grounding presence and will be an optional part of the therapy space for those who find comfort in animal companionship.

Ongoing Professional Development
I attend regular training and CPD to ensure I continue to offer safe, ethical, and up-to-date support. This includes:

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Sessions take place in a peaceful, private garden office—a quiet space designed to feel calm, warm, and safe. It’s set slightly apart from the main house, allowing for privacy and focus. I also offer online sessions for those who prefer remote work or need more flexibility.

From late 2025, my golden retriever Goose may be available as an optional presence during face-to-face sessions. He’s currently in training to join me in the therapy space and brings a gentle, grounding energy that some clients find deeply comforting.
