About me
Hello, I’m glad you’ve found your way here. Starting therapy is a big step, I hope the below information helps you find what you are looking for.
Who am I?
I’m Bridget, I’m 37 years old and live in London. I have been working in mental health since 2012 including as a mental health nurse for many years in Australia.
I now work as a psychotherapist for the NHS and offer private therapy outside of this time – early mornings, evenings and weekends.
I am lucky enough to say I genuinely love my job, I care about what I do and feel privileged to be in such a position. We all go through hard times sometimes, therapy has really helped me in the past and I am happy to be able to be there for others in times of need.
Outside of work, I like yoga and exercise, seeing friends and family, and am totally besotted with my dog, a rescue Jack Russell cross.
What Therapy with Me Is Like
I offer psychological therapy using evidence-based approaches based on my training, including CBT, ACT, trauma-focused therapy and integrative methods. Equally importantly, I aim to get to know people I work with on a human level and forge genuine therapeutic connections.
My style is generally warm, informal and flexible; I am always happy to adapt according to your needs and preferences. I can also offer gentle challenging and structure where it helps.
I believe that how you feel in the sessions is a crucial aspect of the treatment. I hope to help you to feel safe and comfortable to be yourself.
Who I Offer Therapy For
I offer therapy for adults (17+) experiencing all types of anxiety or depression-related difficulties – whether a diagnosed disorder or simply feeling stressed, unsure, unmotivated, or stuck. I am particularly interested in low self esteem and shame which I find underly many outward presentations. These things are often deep rooted from past experiences and I enjoy helping people work out the connection between what they have been through and what they are experiencing now, and then how to make helpful changes to become a more fulfilled and resilient version of themselves – without those limiting beliefs holding them back.
I also offer therapy for those with long term physical health problems and enjoy working with the mind-body connection.
I aim to provide an inclusive space for people of all identities and backgrounds. My practice is actively anti-discriminatory.
