About me

Seeking a warm, professional space to address anxiety, depression or challenges such as relationship and family issues? I can help you explore your thoughts and make sense of them. Together, we can discover the root of what you might be feeling, perhaps uncovering new insights and pathways to healing. I will give you the space and time to explore whatever you are facing and take the time you need to understand your thoughts, feelings and beliefs.

As an Integrative Counsellor, I mainly use Person-Centred approach, blending in mindfulness and CBT techniques. I offer long-term and short-term therapy, available online or in person to untangle your past and present, or to focus on shaping your future.  I am an empathetic listener who will listen to you carefully, without judgement and support you to make sense of your internal world.

I believe in creating a safe space where you can discover your authentic self, heal, gain insight, grow, and be listened to. I have a deep understanding of working with low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, grief, bereavement, relationship breakdown, domestic violence, narcissistic abuse.

Please feel free to reach out to me via email, text, or phone with any questions you might have. We can schedule a free telephone consultation to find the best approach for your needs at a pace that suits you. If you prefer face-to-face therapy, sessions are available in Birtley, close to Chester-le-Street/ Gateshead/ Sunderland and Durham.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
