About me

Hello, I'm Bettina, welcome to Mind Solution Therapy. Do you feel like your worrying and overthinking started to impact your mental health? Are you noticing that things from your past are still affecting your life today? Do you need a safe and calm space to talk openly about what’s been on your mind—whether it’s emotional challenges, relationship or family issues, or simply feeling stuck? I’m here to help you make sense of your thoughts and feelings.

My approach is based on the understanding that mind and body are closely connected. I work holistically, meaning we can explore your thoughts, emotions, past experiences, and how life’s challenges may affect you both mentally and physically. We may also gently notice how stress or difficult experiences can show up in the body. This is always done at your pace, in a way that feels comfortable and supportive.

My aim is to help you reconnect with yourself, understand your inner world, and move forward with more confidence and awareness. I tailor our work together to suit your individual needs. My approach is primarily Person-Centred, alongside elements of CBT, mindfulness, psychodynamic, systemic and narrative therapy.

Areas of Experience-I have experience supporting individuals with:

  • Anxiety and depression
  • Relationship breakdown
  • Trauma
  • Low self-esteem
  • Grief and bereavement
  • Domestic violence
  • Narcissistic abuse
  • Anger

Therapy with me can help you:

  • Heal from trauma
  • Identify and shift unhelpful patterns
  • Strengthen your sense of self
  • Build healthier relationships
  • Learning to regulate overwhelming emotions
  • Understanding triggers and building coping strategies
  • Reconnecting with your values, needs, and boundaries
  • Developing self‑compassion and reducing self‑criticism
  • Navigating life transitions
  • Managing stress and burnout
  • Improving communication and conflict resolution
  • Rebuilding trust in yourself and others

If you’re curious about how therapy might help, feel free to reach out. Therapy can be short‑term or long‑term, and you’re welcome to meet with me online or in person. I also provide a free phone consultation so we can get a sense of what feels right for you.

If you prefer face-to-face sessions, I’m based in Birtley, conveniently located near Chester-le-Street, Gateshead, Sunderland, and Durham.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
