About me

A Place to Feel Heard

You may be feeling anxious, overwhelmed, exhausted, or unsure of yourself. Perhaps you’ve been holding everything together for a long time — for your family, your work, or the people around you — while quietly struggling inside. You might not know exactly what’s wrong, only that something doesn’t feel right anymore.

I offer a calm, supportive space where you can slow down, take a breath, and begin to make sense of what you’re experiencing. You don’t need to have the right words or a clear plan. We can take things at your pace and start from where you are.

Who I Support

I’m Beth, an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist, and a health and wellbeing coach. I mainly work with women, supporting them through emotional challenges and life transitions. I also welcome men who feel drawn to a gentle, relational, and trauma-informed approach and who feel we could work well together.

Many of the people I work with feel disconnected from themselves or stuck in patterns that no longer serve them. Therapy can offer a space to explore this with care, curiosity, and compassion.

I support clients experiencing:

  • Anxiety, stress, or ongoing overwhelm
  • Burnout, emotional exhaustion, and people-pleasing patterns
  • The lasting effects of trauma, including relational or developmental trauma
  • Emotional and identity changes linked to perimenopause and menopause
  • Life transitions such as motherhood, relationship changes, career shifts, or changes in identity
  • Low self-esteem, self-doubt, or feelings of not being “enough”
  • A sense of feeling stuck, lost, or disconnected
  • The emotional impact of neurodivergence, including ADHD or autism

Even if you can’t fully explain what’s going on for you, that sense that something needs attention is a valid place to begin.

How I Work

My approach is warm, compassionate, and grounded in emotional safety. Therapy with me is not about judgement or quick fixes. It’s about understanding your experiences and learning to relate to yourself with more kindness and less self-criticism.

I work in an integrative way, blending person-centred counselling with a psychodynamic approach and CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) and gentle coaching where helpful. This allows us to explore past experiences while also focusing on what supports you in your day-to-day life now.

A trauma-informed approach sits at the heart of my practice. I understand that experiences can live in the body as well as the mind, and I work carefully and respectfully, always at your pace.

The therapy we work on may include:

  • Building self-compassion and emotional resilience.
  • Understanding anxiety, stress, and the responses of the nervous system.
  • Examining the patterns formed by previous experiences.
  • Supporting identity changes during major life transitions.
  • Creating time and space to reconnect with yourself and understand your needs.

Therapy isn’t about “fixing” yourself. Therapy is a space for understanding, healing, and gentle change. Embracing kindness towards yourself allowing you to cultivate a deeper understanding of your emotions.

My Background and Experience

I am a mother of two, married, and living in the peaceful Cornish countryside, which is quite different from my native home in busy Essex. Throughout my life, I have noticed that people tend to open up to me and share their life experiences, and I listen to them with great interest and care. This curiosity and empathy ultimately inspired me to pursue a career in counselling.

Alongside my private practice, I work as a Health and Wellbeing Coach in partnership with the NHS, supporting people with long-term health conditions such as type 2 diabetes and hypertension.

Running my own practice means I hold space with care, consistency, and professionalism, carrying out thorough assessments and working with inclusivity and cultural sensitivity.

What You Can Expect

Clients often tell me they feel listened to, understood, and their emotions well held and not judged. I won’t rush you or push you to talk about anything before you’re ready. I believe meaningful change happens within the therapeutic relationship, through feeling safe enough to be honest, vulnerable, and real.

I will guide you to explore dark and difficult places that, once uncovered, can lead to transformation, a new perspective, and a clearer path through life.

You don’t need to be at rock bottom to start therapy. If something inside you is asking for support, that’s reason enough.

An Invitation

If you’re navigating anxiety, stress, trauma, relationship issues, or a period of transition, I offer a calm and supportive space where you don’t have to carry everything alone.

Reaching out can feel daunting, but when you’re ready, I’m here.

"Beth has great knowledge in guiding talking therapeutic sessions. Her inputs helped me a lot to process my feelings, feel more positive and balanced." SS, Liskeard.

Walk and talk sessions are also available for clients who find this more comfortable.
