About me

Sometimes it’s difficult to know what you’re feeling, let alone how to explain it.

You might know that something needs to change without knowing exactly what that is yet. You don't need to find the right words or have a clear idea of what you want from counselling before you get in touch.

Hi, I’m Beth. You can come to counselling exactly as you are, and bring whatever is going on for you.

I’m interested in you, your experiences, and how things feel from your side of things. Being heard and listened to is not something we often get in our day-to-day lives, but having that opportunity can help us make better sense of what we’re going through and begin to work out what we want to change.

We’ll work through it together and see what comes up. I work from a person-centred and integrative approach, so our sessions can look different depending on what you need and what’s going on for you. We’ll work at a pace that feels right for you.

I became a counsellor because my own counselling did so much for me at a low point in my life. I know what it’s like to feel unsure about who you are, to struggle to cope, and to feel caught between wanting to fit in and wanting to be yourself.

That experience is a big part of why I care about this work. Having someone listen without judgement, and having the opportunity to work through what’s going on, can make a real difference.

Creativity can also be woven into our work where it feels helpful. This might be using something visual, writing, drawing, or finding another way of exploring something together. You don't need to consider yourself a creative person. Sometimes it can be easier to explore something when you don't have to find all the words for it.

Online counselling is available throughout the UK, with face-to-face sessions in Tansor, Northamptonshire.

Sessions are available for adults and young people over the age of 15. People from all backgrounds are welcome, and my approach is LGBTIQA+ and neurodivergence-affirming. You can bring your whole self to our sessions, without needing to hide or explain parts of who you are.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have gained experience working within an NHS GP surgery and for a charity supporting disabled children and their families.

At the GP surgery, I have worked with people from 14 to 80 years old, with a wide range of experiences including neurodivergence, identity challenges, chronic pain, bereavement and grief, loss of ability and changes in relationships.

Through my work with the charity, I have counselled young people aged 11–16 with physical and learning disabilities, speech difficulties, chronic illness, ADHD and autism. I have also supported parents whose family life can become heavily focused around their children and the challenges they face.

I have a particular interest in relationships and the many ways they can become complicated. This might include estrangement, ghosting, feeling unsure about staying in contact, or navigating painful or confusing dynamics with family, partners, or friends. I also support people who are grieving a difficult relationship, including when someone has died, and the feelings around that loss are mixed or hard to make sense of. These experiences often sit alongside other challenges, and counselling can offer space to explore what feels difficult and what matters to you.

Alongside my professional experience, I bring my own lived experience of disability, neurodivergence and being queer. This shapes my understanding of identity, belonging, and the different ways we cope when life becomes overwhelming, including through patterns like addiction or feeling disconnected from self or others.
