About me

Are you feeling anxious, overwhelmed or disconnected from the world around you? Reaching out for help can feel daunting, but you don't have to navigate this storm alone. My name is Beth and I provide a warm, collaborative, and completely non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace.
My approach is rooted in person-centred counselling, meaning I offer empathy, acceptance and genuineness to each person with the belief that every person's experiences deserve to be heard. I also incorporate some psychoeducation into our work together, helping you gain clarity and a better understanding of yourself through the process.
I work with adults (ages 18+) across a wide range of life challenges, but I have a deep professional interest and focus in:

  • Late-identified Neurodivergence: Helping you process the grief, relief, and self-discovery that comes with a late discovery, and learning to live unmasked
  • Navigating chronic illness & fatigue: Supporting you through the mental toll, isolation, grief and daily unpredictability of health conditions
  • Anxiety and self-esteem: Helping you break the people-pleasing cycle and challenging negative self-beliefs so you can build confidence
  • Trauma-informed healing: Working safely and gently with past experiences that are impacting your relationships and day-to-day life

By putting you at the centre of our work together, I hope to gently guide you through these difficult times, helping you to feel understood and less alone, so that you can leave with increased self-awareness, emotional resilience and are able to move through life more authentically. I am an adaptable counsellor who is more than happy to tailor the counselling to suit your needs, as I understand everybody is different and not one size fits all.

I believe finding the right counsellor for you is so important, so please reach out to book in an initial 20 minute, no obligation telephone call with myself to see if you would like to work together. Here we can talk more about what you are hoping to get from counselling and what you can expect from me as a counsellor.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
