About me

My name is Beth and I am a fully qualified and experienced talking therapist. Whether it's past trauma, difficult relationships, low self esteem, anxiety & depression or anything else that's causing you difficulties, I can help unravel and process what's going on for you.

I work with individuals and couples to uncover hidden thoughts, feelings and behaviours that might be affecting parts of your life and your relationships.

Our work is tailored to you / your relationship and your needs and I will help to explore difficult thoughts and feelings in a safe and trusting environment.

Individual therapy:

Our stories are personal and complex and can cause a lot of pain. You may feel you need to understand and heal parts of yourself (your inner child for example) to be able to move forward in a more positive way. You may not understand why you feel the way you do and that’s ok, I’m here to help. I will work with you honestly and challenge you where needed to push through areas where you feel stuck or trapped.

Couples therapy:

If your relationship isn’t working and you’re struggling to communicate and understand each other’s needs, I can help you both to look at the relationship from a different angle to hopefully find a new way forward. The relationship is at the centre of our work and I will listen to you both carefully and fairly to help you both see where you are getting stuck.

I work with a wide range of different mental health difficulties and am experienced in trauma, abuse, depression & anxiety, substance misuse and couples.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a fully qualified, BACP approved therapist. I work from a humanistic perspective, meaning I put you at the centre of our work together. I am trained from an integrative model that uses philosophies from Person Centred Therapy, Gestalt and Existentialism.

I have a couples counselling certificate from Therapy Works organisation.

I am experienced in addiction, abuse, trauma, depression & anxiety, low self esteem and can work with a variety of different mental health difficulties.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
