About me

One of the things I value most about this work is getting to understand someone beyond the problem that first brought them to therapy. I am interested in your experiences, relationships and the different parts of your life that have shaped who you are.

I am an integrative therapist registered to the BACP offering a warm, collaborative and sometimes challenging approach to therapy. Being trained as an integratively means that I draw from a variety of therapeutic modalities. This allows us to explore what is happening in your life now as well as how past experiences and relationships may continue to influence the present.

Above all, I work relationally, which means that I place particular importance on the relationship we develop and see therapy as a process we take part in together. Rather than trying to fit everyone into the same therapeutic model, I adapt the way I work to the individual in front of me.

About Me

Before training as a therapist, I worked supporting young adults with special educational needs, which shaped my interest in how early experiences and relationships affect the way we cope. I also work with a charity supporting research into new approaches to treating PTSD which has deepened my interest in trauma and resilience.

How I work

Working together, we can look at what's happening in your life from different perspectives, make sense of what may be keeping you stuck, and explore where there might be room for change.

At times, I may gently challenge you or draw attention to something I notice, particularly when I think it could help us understand something that might otherwise be hard to see.

I work with a wide range of concerns and experiences, with particular interest in:

  • Anxiety and Self-esteem issues
  • Grief and Bereavement
  • Relationship and Family Difficulties
  • Depression
  • Anger Management
  • Trauma

I am also drawn to working with neurodivergent clients, an interest informed in part by my own experience of having ADHD. This has given me a personal understanding of some of the challenges that can come with navigating work, relationships and everyday expectations in a world that isn't always suited to different ways of thinking. I bring this lived experience to my practice, while recognising that everyone's experience of neurodivergence is different.

I offer short term (12 sessions), longer-term or open-ended sessions depending on what you need. Sessions are in person or online.

To get started, I offer a free 20-minute phone consultation. This first call is just a chance for us to get to know each other and see if we are a good fit.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
