About me
Hello,
Hi, my name is Barbara Paczkowska, I pride myself at being an experienced and qualified psychologist and psychotherapist, I am a Consultant EMDR Europe psychotherapist and Supervisor. My therapeutic journey began in the NHS, where I excelled in a previous role as a hi-intensity Cognitive-Behavioural Therapist. Today, I proudly serve as the founder and clinical director of 'Select Healthy Mind,' my own privately-based psychotherapy clinic in Windsor & Eton.
I take pride in being able to offer face to face consultations with ‘individually tailored’ therapy sessions on site, that reflect each individual’s distinct personality and needs.
My specialty is the treatment of adults suffering from depression and mood disturbance, anxiety disorders (social phobia, specific phobias), obsessive- compulsive disorder and panic disorders. I also have extensive experience working with patients who have suffered from complex trauma (PTSD).
Valuing the importance of a therapeutic relationship, I base my relationships with clients on trust and partnership. Drawing on extensive experience I aim to provide a safe and non- judgmental environment where you the client feels acknowledged, listened to and supported. As we are all unique no one type of therapy 'fits' all and I therefore integrate the therapeutic models in which I have been trained to meet your particular individual needs.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a fully qualified and accredited therapist in C.B.T. (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and E.M.D.R. (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Therapy.) - where I am currently a 'Consultant in Training.'
I have a Masters Level degree in C.B.T. (MSc. CBT) from the Department of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy at Buckinghamshire University. I am accredited by the British Association for Cognitive Behavioural and Psychotherapy (BABCP), and E.M.D.R. UK & Ireland. I also attained an Honours Degree in Psychology (BSc Hons) from the University of London.
I am an honorary member of The British Psychological Society (BPS).
I continually strive to deepen my knowledge and understanding of current techniques of delivering the best therapy for my clients by participating in numerous training courses and seminars organized by the world's top specialists. My clinical practice 'Select Healthy Mind' (based in Windsor, Berkshire) is subject to continuous evaluation and supervision.
I previously worked for the National Health Service (NHS) as a Senior Hi-Intensity Cognitive-Behavioural Therapist/Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing therapist treating a host of mental health conditions. I still supervise several staff under me in EMDR that work both inside and outside the service.

The BABCP is the lead organisation for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in the UK. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in the practice, theory or development of CBT. BABCP accredited members adhere to the Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics in the Practice of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies, and are willing to be scrutinised in this adherence as required.

Additional information
If you have self- referred privately (not through health cover), the initial 50-60 min assessment as well as sessions thereafter is currently capped at £120.
Lower cost fees may be available if agreed (given 'special' circumstances' or when client's treatment goes over 15 sessions. Fees covered by health cover are submitted directly to your insurer.
The fee includes all administration and room charges. The initial consultation fee and subsequent session fees are payable at the end of each consultation. We are able to accept payment by card, cash or bank transfer.
Individual sessions can be cancelled with no charge up until 48 hours before your scheduled appointment. We can discuss a re- arranged session later.
Cancellations within 24 hours before session will be charge half price of the agreed basic fee and full price will be charged for non-attended and non-cancelled sessions
I am approved to accept payment from most major health insurance providers that include AXA, Vitality, Cigna, Aviva, Pruhealth, BUPA International, etc

My specialty is the treatment of adults suffering from PTSD, complex trauma, depression and mood disturbance, as well as anxiety disorders (social phobia, specific phobias), obsessive- compulsive disorder and panic disorders. I have extensive experience working with patients who have suffered from childhood issues that still impact them well into adulthood and need help reconciling their impact in current daily life.
