About me
I’m Ateeba, a Person-Centred therapist offering a warm, safe, and supportive space where you feel truly heard and listened to can make a real difference.
Sometimes life can leave us feeling that we need to stay silent, keep things to ourselves, and carry on moving, even when we are struggling inside.
Over time, we can become used to putting our own feelings aside, others first, and telling ourselves what we are experiencing isn’t important enough to talk about. Eventually, this can leave us feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, and unsure of how to move forward.
Having the opportunity to make sense of what you are feeling, rather than keeping everything inside, can help to create a greater sense of self-awareness, understanding, and acceptance.
Therapy can offer the time and space you need to reconnect with yourself, work through difficult emotions and experiences, and help you begin to recognise your own strengths and resilience. It can be a place to pause, breathe, slow down, and truly be yourself, without having to pretend that everything is okay.
Whatever it is you’re going through, you don’t have to face everything alone. You don’t need to find the right words. You don’t need to have it all worked out, and you don’t have to know exactly where the journey will take you.
Sometimes, taking that first step at a pace that feels comfortable for you, and having a safe person to walk alongside you, can be the beginning of meaningful change.
Choosing a therapist can feel a little daunting. Reaching out and talking to someone new about things you may have been keeping to yourself isn’t always easy, and it can take courage to make that first step. If you’re thinking about starting therapy but aren’t quite sure, that’s absolutely okay.
You’re very welcome to get in touch, ask any questions or simply have an initial conversation to see whether it feels right for you.

Further information
I am Cardiff based person centred therapist offering both short-term and open-ended long-term therapy, online or in person depending on your needs.
My main modality is person-centred, however I draw on different therapeutic approaches to support you as an individual.
I am also currently undertaking further training in Psychological Trauma Therapy so that I can continue to develop my understanding of how difficult and sometimes overwhelming experiences can affect us.
