About me

I offer counselling face to face, online and over the phone to young people and adults aged 17 and over. As individuals we can experience a range of issues and events within our personal life that can leave us feeling stuck, confused and unsure of how to move forward whilst also trying to process and navigate a range of feelings. I offer integrative therapy in a safe space where you can be seen, heard and supported to explore  a current issue, feelings of low-self esteem, anxiety, grief or a relationship struggle and explore the various outcomes and feelings in a non-judgemental, compassionate and safe space.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • BA (Hons)
  • PGCE
  • Msc Conversion Masters in Psychology
  • Level 4 Diploma in Humanistic Counselling
  •  Counsellor in a local Hospice offering pre-bereaved and bereaved counselling.

Member Organisations

  • BACP

As well as Private Practice I have worked as a counsellor in a Hospice supporting individuals with bereavement and pre-bereavement counselling. The sessions gave individuals the opportunity to begin to process their grief but to also hold space for their own concerns and questions around mortality and their sense of how they have been affected by grief and the larger impact on their life path.

In addition to counselling I also work for a charity which supports families when they need it most. My role allows me to form connections with families and individuals whilst supporting them to feel empowered to facilitate changes in their lives which they may be struggling to do alone.

I have previously worked in the teaching profession as a Senior leader and mentor to newly qualified teachers. This allowed me to hold space and empathy  for other individuals and support them to work towards their goal.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
