About me
Counselling and psychotherapy aim to significantly help our ability to manage our lives more effectively. If you are seeking help to find a better understanding of yourself, others and life events, this is the time to talk to a professionally trained counsellor who can support you during your time of need to work through your difficulties.
I am registered with the ICO (Information Comissioner's Office) data protection and am an Accredited Member of British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I provide psychoanalytically informed psychodynamic counselling and psychotherapy to individual adults using additional theoretical modalities of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy - CBT, Compassionate Mindfulness, Trauma-Focused CBT and Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing - EMDR.

Training, qualifications & experience
Therapy aims to significantly help our ability to manage our lives more effectively and find a better understanding of ourselves, others and life events. I am experienced in working with issues such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, loss and bereavement, traumata, PTSD and cPTSD. I offer psychodynamic talking treatment working with unconscious processes and defence mechanisms as well as compassionate mindfulness techniques and sensorimotor/poly vagal theory for stabilisation to support resilience and growth by enhancing a healthy autonomic nervous system and to attend to the interrelationships between mind, emotions, physiology and behaviour. I have worked in NHS institutional settings and charity organisations. My experience includes working therapeutically with military veterans. Emergency Services, Police, Fire, Ambulance and NHS staff, specifically with trauma related symptoms such as post-traumatic stress disorder, moral injury, complex PTSD and other acute and chronic co-morbidities such as anxiety and depression.
2017-2019: NHS Springfield Hospital, SW London & St George's Mental Health Trust. Group Mindfulness and therapeutic yoga applying compassionate CBT, poly vagal theory and sensorimotor psychotherapy for inpatients suffering from severe eating disorders and trauma to compassionately support growth by enhancing a healthy autonomic nervous system and to attend to the interrelationships between mind, emotions, physiology and behaviour.

2009-2014 NHS Epsom Hospital, Surrey and Borders Partnership (SABP)
2 years: in-patients psychiatric observations
3 years: long term psychodynamic psychotherapy for adult out-patients working therapeutically with patients with personality disorders such as borderline personality disorder, psychosis, severe adverse childhood experiences, abuse and trauma.
2009-2012 MIND, Hammersmith & Fulham, London
Psychoanalytically informed psychodynamic psychotherapy for adults both long and short term contracts.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
