About me
You might be the one who always kept the peace, the one who stayed small or put your needs to the bottom of the pile in order to stay safe. If you grew up with emotional neglect, physical abuse or had a parent whose love came with conditions, you're not alone and you don't have to keep carrying it alone either.
I'm a psychodynamic counsellor offering sessions in Chelmsford. I work with adults who are beginning to untangle the lasting impact of early trauma, emotional neglect and difficult family dynamics. Many of my clients feel disconnected from themselves, unsure of what they want, how they feel or who they authentically are.
My approach is warm, friendly and creative. I offer a space where you can speak freely and be met with care, not judgement. You might bring anxiety, low self-esteem, family issues, depression or a sense of being stuck. You don't have to have it all figured out, we can begin where you are.
I won't give you advice or tell you what to do but I can help you reconnect with the parts of yourself that have been silenced, forgotten or hidden. Sometimes we talk. Sometimes we might sit in silence. Sometimes we'll talk about a dream you had or a feeling that doesn't have words yet.
You're welcome to contact me to arrange a free 20-minute phone or video consultation to talk through your needs and see whether this type of counselling might be right for you.
Feel free to have a look around my website to get an idea of how I work, how I might be able to help and to read my blog.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
