About me

Seeking counselling can feel like a big step, particularly when life feels overwhelming, uncertain or difficult to make sense of. I offer a warm, supportive and confidential space where you can slow down, talk openly and explore whatever is on your mind, without fear of judgement.

I believe that each person is unique and that there is no single "right" way to experience or navigate life's challenges. My approach is rooted in person-centred values, meaning I see you as the expert on your own life. My role is not to tell you what to do, but to walk alongside you, helping you develop a deeper understanding of yourself, your experiences and the changes you may want to make.

As an integrative counsellor, I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches and tailor our work to your individual needs. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, low mood, stress, self-esteem, relationships, loss, life transitions or simply feeling stuck, we can work together in a way that feels right for you.

I have a particular interest in supporting neurodivergent individuals and offer a welcoming space that respects and values different ways of thinking, feeling and experiencing the world. I aim to work with curiosity, openness and authenticity, recognising that every person's experience is their own.

My practice is grounded in the belief that meaningful change can happen when we feel genuinely heard, accepted and understood. I strive to create a calm and compassionate environment where you can be yourself, explore your thoughts and emotions, and move towards greater self-awareness and growth at your own pace.

I offer counselling sessions online and face-to-face in Manningtree, Essex, and provide a free 30-minute initial consultation so that we can discuss what has brought you to counselling and see whether working together feels like the right fit.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor holding a CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. My approach is integrative, drawing from a range of therapeutic theories and interventions whilst maintaining a strong person-centred foundation. This allows me to tailor counselling to the individual, recognising that each person's experiences, needs and goals are unique.

Through my training and counselling practice, I have worked with adult clients facing a wide variety of challenges, including anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, bereavement and loss, relationship difficulties, life transitions, identity issues and personal growth. I aim to offer a warm, respectful and collaborative therapeutic relationship where clients feel safe to explore their thoughts, feelings and experiences.

I have a particular interest in supporting neurodivergent individuals and strive to provide a welcoming environment that values different ways of thinking, processing and experiencing the world. I recognise the importance of adapting my approach to the person sitting in front of me rather than expecting them to fit a particular model of therapy.

Before entering the counselling profession, I spent more than 20 years in professional and client-focused roles. This background has given me a broad understanding of many of the pressures people face, including workplace stress, caring responsibilities, major life changes and balancing competing demands.

I am committed to ongoing professional development and regularly undertake additional training to support my practice. I work within professional and ethical guidelines and believe that a strong therapeutic relationship provides the foundation for meaningful self-exploration, growth and change.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
