About me
I offer a non-judgemental, kind, and empathic safe place for you to explore, talk about and reflect on whatever you need to. I believe that you are the expert in what you are experiencing so you set the agenda for our sessions. It is through this process of talking about your experiences that you may find the answers you are trying to find.
I am a fully qualified integrative therapeutic counsellor which means my approach includes a range of theories that can support you. This approach means that my way of working can be flexible to suit your needs and support you the best that I can. I work with person-centred and psychodynamic theories. Person-centred theory is all about supporting you grow and make the changes that you want. Psychodynamic theory focusses on understanding your past and previous relationships are affecting you in the present.
A trusting relationship between counsellor and client is incredibly important and we will work to build this trust by going at a pace that suits you. My role is to listen and support you in a non-judgemental, empathic and understanding way, and help you find the answers that you are looking for. This means I won’t be giving you advise about what to do. As we are all unique individuals, what may be right for one person may not be right for you. If required, I may suggest resources or signpost you to other agencies if appropriate.
I am a registered member of the BACP which means that I follow their code of ethics and have regular supervision. This is to make sure that I am supporting you in the best way I can.
I have experience working with clients with a diverse range of presenting problems, including anxiety, depression, neurodiversity, men’s issues, LGBTQ+ , grief, loss, childhood trauma, addiction, and abuse. I am committed to regular CPD to develop my practice and understanding.
I have a background in teaching and currently teach Counselling at Gloucestershire College.
Before our first session I will arrange a brief introductory call to talk to you about what you can expect when you come for your first session. It will also be a good chance for you to ask any questions that you may have.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
