About me
Thank you for considering allowing me to help you.
I'm Andy and through the use of CBT tools and techniques I have been able to work with others to help them overcome their anxiety, depression, addiction, OCD, phobias and the effects of trauma.
Listening is at the key of what I do. I have been a professional listener for over 14 years, training others to listen and writing a book on the subject. Through the careful use of this skill I have been able to help people at times of crisis in their lives and to achieve long-lasting change for the better. I have 30 years of experience as an emergency responder, so I am well placed to understand the particular challenges those in this sector and their families face.

WHAT IS COGNITIVE BEHAVIOURAL THERAPY (CBT)?
CBT revolves around the powerful connection between our thoughts, emotions, and actions. Altering one of these areas can trigger positive changes in others. Backed by solid evidence, CBT effectively addresses various mental health conditions like depression, anxiety, phobias, addiction, trauma, and low self-esteem. The National Institute for Clinical Excellence highly recommends CBT for these issues.
HOW OUR SESSIONS WORK
Our sessions are designed to last around 50 minutes, once a week. The number of sessions required varies, but typically, 6 to 12 sessions yield significant improvement. You have the option for confidential online sessions via Zoom or similar platforms, and face-to-face meetings at my Ayrshire consulting room.
NOT SURE IF COUNSELLING OR CBT IS RIGHT FOR YOU?
I offer a complimentary 20-minute online or phone consultation. This allows us to get to know each other better and figure out if CBT is the right fit for you.
