About me

Hi, My Name is Anara (Ana)
I have a level 6 Degree in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy and have been working with clients for over 3 years for many different presenting issues.

How I Work:
My therapeutic approach is integrative, meaning I draw from a range of evidence-based methods to support you in the way that best suits your needs.

At the heart of my work is Person-Centred Therapy. This provides the foundation: a safe, empathetic, non-judgmental relationship where you can explore your thoughts and emotions freely. From this grounding, I weave in additional approaches that deepen understanding, build resilience, and create meaningful change.

I often integrate Compassion-Focused Therapy, which helps soften self-criticism and develop a kinder, more supportive inner voice. This works beautifully alongside Mindfulness, which brings calm awareness to the present moment and helps you notice patterns without becoming overwhelmed by them.

When you’re ready to take steps forward, I bring in Solution-Focused techniques to help you identify your strengths, clarify your goals, and move toward practical, achievable change. These small shifts can open up new possibilities and create a sense of direction.

Throughout our work together, I also use Psychoeducation – sharing helpful psychological insights about emotions, stress, or relationship patterns. Many clients find that understanding why they feel a certain way brings relief, empowerment, and a greater sense of control.

Together, these approaches create a holistic, flexible, and compassionate therapeutic space – one that honours your unique experiences while supporting you to grow, heal, and reconnect with your own inner confidence and clarity.

I offer a warm, supportive space where you can talk openly and feel truly heard. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, low self-esteem, depression, gender expression and identity, trauma, relationship difficulties, loss, or life changes, we can explore what’s going on at your pace.

As a member of the LGBTQ+ community myself, I’m very comfortable working with any exploration or worries in these areas, and I feel privileged to do so.

I offer face-to-face (from a lovely space in Leamington Spa centre), online, and telephone sessions, making therapy accessible and flexible to fit your life.

I currently have a number of sessions available from as little as £30 for those who are struggling financially, because therapy should be accessible to everyone. Please email me if you would like more information.

The relationship we build together is really important, because feeling safe and understood is what allows you to open up and explore things at your own pace. When there’s trust between us, it becomes easier for you to talk about what’s really going on, and that’s when therapy can be most helpful and meaningful.

I’m friendly, real, and approachable, so please feel free to message me with any questions. I also offer a free 15-minute (or so) phone call, so we can get a sense of each other and see if we feel we’d work well together.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of Warwick. Over the years, I’ve worked both within agencies and independently, supporting clients from many different backgrounds and life experiences.

My work has included supporting people recovering from drug and alcohol misuse, survivors of domestic abuse and sexual assault, and those living with complex PTSD. I also work with clients struggling with low self-esteem, disconnection from self, and challenging family dynamics.

These experiences have given me a deep respect for the courage it takes to seek support and a genuine belief in everyone’s capacity for healing and change.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
