About me

Hi I'm Amy - an integrative therapist specialising in whole-person healing for emotionally exhausted women experiencing depression, anxiety, overwhelm, trauma, and burnout. You may feel stuck in patterns of overthinking, over-responsibility, or constant coping, while feeling disconnected from yourself.

My work is predominantly with mothers and care givers. Our initial sessions will be client led, as we build trust and rapport. Our work will then deepen and we will collaborate to create a plan to alleviate symptoms, keeping you from feeling 'stuck' and moving forward to a more positive place in life. This could include going back to childhood and figuring out root causes, working through trauma and allowing you to feel safe in your body again.

If you are seeking calm, balance, and a deeper sense of emotional safety, we will work together to help you move out of survival mode and towards a more regulated and sustainable way of living. This is through a clearer connection to your needs, boundaries, and resources to support greater self-trust and confidence.

Training, qualifications & experience

With a strong interest in the mind-body connection, I work intuitively and integrate a combination of techniques. This includes integrative counselling, ACT, somatic and energetic body-based work, NLP, inner child and coaching tools. We work both psychologically and physiologically, supporting emotional regulation, and self-awareness for sustainable change.

As each client is different, treatment is tailored uniquely to your needs. We may work through a spiritual lense if appropriate, utilise creative techniques, or help you get back in touch with your body. We do what's right for you in the moment every step of the way.

I started helping others on their healing journeys through my reiki practise 6 years ago, and have helped lots of clients since then. I have also worked as a child counsellor in schools and many parents find this experience helpful in sessions. My current work is with adults only and alongside private practise I provide counselling within a charity specifically for parent carers.

I offer a nurturing approach while also being gently challenging when helpful. As a parent to child with autism, I bring deep understanding of struggles families face. You’re welcome to get more of an insight of my work on Instagram - ashaya.therapy.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
