About me
Are you feeling disconnected, overwhelmed, or burdened by self-doubt?
When life feels heavy, it can be hard to hear your own voice underneath all the stress and fear. You don't have to navigate it alone.
I’m Amy, a person-centred counsellor based in Beverley. People often describe me as warm, welcoming, and easy to talk to. My approach is gentle yet empowering.
I offer a calm, non-judgmental space where you can feel truly heard and understood.
Together, we won't just talk through what’s happening on the surface. We'll gently explore the emotions underneath so you can gain clarity, rebuild your confidence, and start moving toward the life you actually want to live.
What working with me feels like
Clients often tell me that after the first session, their thoughts feel clearer and they can finally exhale.
Who I work well with.
People who feel things deeply, absorb the emotional energy around them, and often find themselves feeling overwhelmed, drained, or misunderstood by the world. Individuals who spend so much time taking care of everyone else that they’ve lost touch with what they need, often struggling with self-doubt or setting boundaries
I also work particularly well with thoughtful, reflective adults who feel:
• emotionally stuck or burnt out
• overwhelmed by stress or anxiety
• unsure of who they are or what they need
• affected by trauma, past experiences, or relationship patterns
• ready to understand themselves more deeply
I know choosing a counsellor can feel daunting, so I offer a free, no‑obligation introductory call. It’s simply a chance for you to get a feel for me and see whether this space feels right for you.
If we continue, we’ll work together to explore what’s troubling you, understand the patterns that keep you stuck, and support you in building resilience, confidence, and self‑trust.
How counselling can help
Person‑centred counselling supports you to grow through genuine connection, empathy, and understanding. As you become more self‑aware, you may find yourself:
• feeling more authentic and grounded
• making clearer, more confident choices
• reducing internal conflict
• building healthier boundaries and relationships
• living more in the present rather than being shaped by the past
• reconnecting with who you are and who you want to be.
What to expect in your first session
Your comfort comes first. Whether we meet online, face‑to‑face, or outdoors for walk‑and‑talk therapy, I’ll make sure you feel safe and settled. We’ll go through our counselling agreement together, and you’ll have space to ask questions.
From there, I’ll invite you to share what brings you to therapy. You’re welcome to express yourself in whatever way feels natural through words, imagery, artwork, metaphors, or even lines from a song. My role is to understand your world as you experience it.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
