About me
Most of us come to therapy seeking change. My focus is on what makes change possible for you. This begins by offering you a confidential, non-judgmental, accepting and supportive environment where we will explore what is happening for you and how this is impacting your daily life. I offer therapy to individuals and couples and am committed to our working collaboratively to enable you to make sense of your thoughts and feelings, to understand yourself better and unlock potential change. When we feel truly seen and heard, understood and validated, we start to thrive.
I am an MA qualified psychotherapist and a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy) practicing in Surrey, Hampshire and London. As an integrative psychotherapist I believe in drawing on a range of theories, allowing me to work with flexibility and in accordance with your unique and specific needs.
In my Surrey and Hampshire based practices, I work with both individuals and couples who may be experiencing distinct or a co-morbidity of mental health issues, such as anxiety, depression, family difficulties, relationship issues, bereavement, isolation and loneliness. I also work with neuro-diversity and complex presentations such as personality disorders and suicidal ideation.
In my London based practice, I work with executive level individuals experiencing specific psychological blocks which they feel are preventing them moving forward in their careers, their business and/or personal relationships.
What I offer
I offer open-ended therapy, meaning we may work together for the short or long term, it is your decision. Therapy would take place on a weekly basis, at a mutually agreed time for a 50-minute session. This would either be in person or online.
My Surrey practice room is in Farnham and my Hampshire practice room is easily accessible from Winchester, Basingstoke, Alton and Petersfield, situated in a small town just off the A31 (Alresford).
I believe it is the quality of the relationship between therapist and client that is imperative to therapy in facilitating growth and change. Therefore, I encourage anyone seeking therapy to speak to several practitioners to see who feels the most comfortable fit for you. With this in mind, I offer a brief introductory phone call to see how you feel about talking with me.
If you would like further information or to chat through your options, please contact me by phone, email or visit my website: www.ambergoymertherapy.com

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
