About me
I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist with the British Psychological Society (BPS) and a registered Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (UK).
I am passionate about working with clients to help them move beyond their difficulties and towards their goals. My therapeutic style is active, collaborative and goal orientated. I have a background in a range of therapies (including Dialectical Behaviour Therapy). I currently specialise in using Schema Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
I specialise in working with clients with mood disorders, complex trauma, chronic physical health problems (particularly chronic fatigue syndrome) and relationship/attachment difficulties.
I have significant experience of working with adults across diverse NHS inpatient and community settings including physical health (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, HIV and sexual health) and forensic mental health settings.
I currently divide my time between my independent practice and my role as an expert witness; offering expert witness assessment and intervention in family court proceedings, where domestic violence is a child protection concern. I am also a Visiting Fellow at the University of Huddersfield where I provide post graduate teaching on areas of forensic psychology.
Training, qualifications & experience
I obtained a First Class (Hons) Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from The University of Liverpool and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from University College London (UCL).
I am highly committed to continuing professional development. I have completed post doctoral training courses in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Schema Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Mentalisation Based Therapy.

school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
