Dr Amanda Tadrous, Chartered Clinical Psychologist
85 Wimpole Street
1 Snow Hill Court
I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist with the British Psychological Society (BPS) and a registered Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (UK).
I have developed expertise in areas of health and forensic psychology through my roles in NHS HIV/Sexual Health, chronic fatigue syndrome and forensic services.
I currently divide my time between my work at the Priory Hospital, Roehampton, independent practice and my role as an expert witness. I am also a Visiting Fellow at the University of Huddersfield where I provide post graduate level teaching on areas of forensic psychology.
My therapeutic style is active, collaborative and goal orientated. I am passionate about working collaboratively with clients to help them move beyond their difficulties and towards their goals. I am an expert in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT). DBT is an intensive form of CBT that was originally designed for chronically suicidal patients with a diagnosis of borderline personality disorder. I also implement strategies from other therapeutic models (particularly mindfulness and schema therapy) to best clients; needs.
Training, qualifications & experience
I obtained a first class (Hons) bachelor of science degree in psychology from The University of Liverpool and a doctorate in clinical psychology from University College London (UCL).
I am highly committed to continuing professional development. I have completed numerous post doctoral training courses including DBT intensive training through the British Isles DBT as well as mentalisation based therapy training at the Anna Freud centre.
