About me
Hello, I'm Amanda.
I've been a person-centred counsellor for the best part of 20 years, working with both young people and adults in a variety of settings. I also offer relationship and couples counselling for those facing challenges in their connection.
Choosing a counsellor can feel like a big decision. After all, you're looking for someone you'll be talking to about the parts of your life you may not share with many people. That's why, for me, the relationship we build together is the most important part of counselling.
My aim is to create a confidential space where you can talk openly about what's going on without worrying about being judged. A space where you can be yourself, explore difficult thoughts and feelings, and sometimes look at things from a different perspective. I won't sit silently and nod at everything you say. I'll listen carefully, ask questions, and challenge things when it feels helpful.
I'm particularly interested in relationship dynamics, whether that's within families, romantic relationships, friendships, or other important connections. I work with people who are recovering from difficult relationships, reflecting on patterns they find themselves repeating, or looking to build healthier relationships going forward. I also work with couples who want to reconnect, improve communication, or navigate challenges together.
I genuinely love being a counsellor and consider it a privilege when someone trusts me enough to share their story. Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. I hope you find the right counsellor for you, and if you think I might be a good fit, I'd be happy to hear from you.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
