About me

Thank you for visiting my profile. I am a BACP registered Counsellor/Psychotherapist and Certified Hypnotherapist.

I understand through first hand experience that choosing a therapist can be overwhelming - there's so many phrases and job titles that aren't used normally day-to-day!

If you are thinking about seeking therapy (either as an individual or couple), perhaps something has shifted in your thoughts, feelings, or behaviour that is uncomfortable for you, or maybe you have decided to explore a long-standing problem or issue. I can help you with this as I'm not here to pass judgement or advise, instead I'm here to help you navigate the highs and lows that life throws at us.

I help my clients achieve their therapeutic goals either by discussing their current or past issues through counselling/psychotherapy or some clients also opt to have hypnotherapy with me too (you can read about that on my website).

I offer people empathy, confidentiality, safety and opportunity to explore their feelings in a therapeutic relationship.

All my work with clients is flexible and focuses on what each individual client needs.

I proudly advocate best practice and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy's ethical frameworks.

Sessions with me can be conducted either in-person or via an online/video or telephone consultation.

Your first therapy session would include an assessment discussion of your problem/s to see if we would work well together and talk about what you would be looking to achieve from therapy.

It's a daunting experience going for therapy and it's the most personal journey you'll go on. I'm more than happy to have a quick free 15min call to discuss any questions you might have or even point you in the direction of someone more suitable.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
