About me

I am a counselling psychologist with extensive experience in various therapeutic services. I can work with both adults, children and couples. I have worked in forensic settings, the private sector (addiction service and a residential unit for looked after children), within the NHS in a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service. I am currently working in an inpatient eating disorder hospital for children and adolescents.

I can utilise various therapeutic approaches dependent on client need, for example; Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Solution Focused Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Overall I am a humanistic clinician with a positive outlook, where I believe people can reach their true potential with the right therapeutic conditions nurturing growth.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a doctor of Counselling Psychology with a masters degree in Forensic Psychology. I have over 10 years clinical experience.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

HCPC
Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
