About me

Do you feel stuck in recurring patterns, wondering why you feel so anxious, depressed or on edge all the time?

Are you the ‘coper’ in your family, the one that holds everyone else together whilst your own needs seem to come last?

Do you feel like you’re drowning under the expectations of others, full of self-doubt, or are caught up in people-pleasing and trying to manage everyone else’s emotions?

Feel unseen by important people in your life; lost in grief; isolated; or simply unsure where life is taking you?

Do you:

  • Find yourself thinking your emotions rather than feeling them?
  • Struggle with overwhelm, exhaustion, like you don’t have the energy you need for the life you want to lead?
  • Wonder why you feel disconnected from your true self?
  • Find yourself caught up in thoughts that seem to endlessly loop, or behaviours that you know are keeping you stuck?
  • Struggle with relationships, feeling ‘missed’ by others who don’t really seem to understand where you are coming from?

Therapy doesn’t have to feel daunting or overwhelming:

  • I provide a safe, compassionate, confidential space to talk about concerns; to identify, explore and find the change you are seeking, in the ways that work best for you
  • I am an ADHD specialist and have worked with over 300 neurodivergent clients, giving me a depth of understanding and empathy for the difficulties that can arise living in a world set up for the neurotypical
  • Together we can untangle relationship difficulties, uncover hidden family patterns that are still driving your life today, and work through childhood experiences to help you understand yourself better
  • I tailor my work to suit you. This may include working with the body (somatics) as well as the mind which can support deeper understanding of yourself, as well as re-setting the nervous system so you can regulate more effectively and don’t have to be stuck in fight, flight or freeze all the time
  • You’ll gain insights and tools to help you get clear on what you really want, and move forward with clarity and the confidence to show up as you really are

How I work

I specialise in working with issues like anxiety, trauma, and relationship or attachment challenges, including those influenced by family patterns or intergenerational dynamics. As well as my interest in working with clients with ADHD (diagnosed or not), I also have a special interest in adults bereaved as children.

If you’re ready to explore how therapy can help, I’d love to hear from you. Please contact me to book a free initial consultation, and we can discuss how I can support you on your journey toward healing and growth.

If you are looking for more than therapy alone, then coaching may also help. Tailoring my approach to your individual needs means I may also bring coaching tools as part of our work together. Therapy asks “How did I get here?”, exploring the past, gaining understanding of how the past has and is still influencing the present, and healing emotional wounds. Coaching asks “How do I get there?”, defining future desired states or goals, and using practical tools to identify and take the steps to create the future we really want.

If you’re looking to heal emotionally as well as to have a clear supportive framework to help you take action and build the life you want, integrated therapy and coaching may be the right answer for you,

My approach

I'm a relational therapist

I believe the ways we relate to others, starting with how we relate to ourselves, shape how we experience life.

I see all my clients as creative, resourceful and whole. No one is broken. When things are not working the way we want them to, there may be a disconnect between body, mind and soul.

Therapy with me is about gaining insight into old, stuck patterns, experiencing a different way of being and relating, and discovering a life that feels purposeful, meaningful, and expansive.

I work with resolving trauma through the body (somatics) and EMDR

The body is where trauma is held, and the body holds the answer to healing and releasing that trauma. Somatic Experiencing helps re-set the nervous system by unfreezing the arousal that gets stuck during a traumatic event, enabling you to move forward without being constantly on high alert.

EMDR supports recovery from distressing events and the problems they have caused through 'unsticking' and reprocessing memories of trauma so they have less charge.

I support you to re-set your nervous system so you don't have to be stuck in fight, flight, fawn or freeze all the time.

I use parts work to help clients understand themselves better

Some of our parts may be wounded or in pain; others may try to control and protect from that pain. Parts work helps identify what is going on underneath, supporting reintegration towards wholeness and a greater sense of coherence and authenticity.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
